A father tries to reconnect with his son through an extremely misjudged bonding experience.
Hmmm…. So a young lad (Nicholas Bakoulos-Cooke) is travelling with his dad (Steve Rodgers) to spend some time with his girlfriend “Scarlett” (Sacha Horler). In tow, in their trailer, is a calf. When they arrive, they are treated to a nice meaty dinner to line stomachs before… Luckily, for the cow, “Rhys” decides to release the condemned so it can go for a wander around the field and “say goodbye”. It’s not daft and runs like hell, necessitating everyone to run after it on her fairly extensive acreage. When they do, finally, apprehend the thing she fetches the tools to do the job, but do either man really have the stomach for what is supposed to come next? Tasteless? Absolutely. It’s a curious look at how males might bond (obviously his dad and mum are no longer together) but quite why any dad would think this rite of passage would cement a relationship with his child is anyone’s guess. There is some very dark humour here - “I hope these aren’t your best shoes!”, and the clue from the title ought to warn anyone that this won’t be for everyone. Quite whom it is for, though, is quite another matter.
