Having lost her husband, Tokiko lives alone in a detached house and begins looking for a job in search of a connection to society. However, she is hindered by the barriers of her age and past experience, and does not achieve the results she desires. In the midst of her lonely days, she meets Anh, a young Vietnamese technical trainee working at a supermarket, and a small, awkward exchange begins between the two, despite their differences in age, language, and background. Tokiko begins to harbor a faint hope for a connection with Anh, but their relationship begins to waver in an unexpected way.
