There is something magically simple about these sequences of animations. As it says on the can, we start with that famous smile on Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and then skilfully morph into paintings from just about everyone from Picasso and Van Gogh to Warhol and Munch in the next seven minutes. It’s the comprehensiveness that’s impressive here, with all styles of contemporary, impressionist and abstract art included in a short feature that could challenge even the most studious of art critics to name each of the thirty five works that are (apparently) included. Often the colours appear textured, as if thickly applied to a canvas or even made from clay and the combination of those familiar with those less identifiable worked well for me. There’s some skill at work here.
