Semafor "60"

A gala evening to mark the significant anniversary of the founding of the legendary theater. The most legendary and only small-scale theater to emerge from the ferment of the 1960s that has survived to the present day is celebrating sixty years since its founding. The unique poetics of Semafor, characterized primarily by the writing, directing, and acting style of its current and only director, Jiří Suchý, has essentially created a unique theatrical genre on the border between satire and musical cabaret. During the theater's sixty years of existence, many songs from Semafor plays have become almost folk classics, and the theater itself has found its unique position in the cultural space from the 1960s to the present. On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, Semafor presented a gala performance wittily inspired by the motto "the best of the worst."
