Perseidas

It’s a balmy summer evening; we hear insects chirping and girls’ laughter. Yet the Perseids of the title remain on the periphery; the night-time forest is not lit up by comets, but instead by torches and the glow of cigarettes. We don’t see much, nevertheless, our senses are working overtime even so. From the darkness – with the aid of music – director Natalia del Mar Kašik ignites a sense of momentum and a truly joyful mood of affable solidarity somewhere on the border between innocence and adulthood, both offering a hint of adventure in the shadow of the night. (Viktor Palák)
