Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1962 to 1969, maestro Erich Leinsdorf conducts filmed selections of Beethoven and Wagner, which were originally aired between October and December of 1965. In addition to "Dawn and Siegfried's Rhine Journey" and "Siegfried's Idyll" by Wagner, the orchestra performs Beethoven's Symphony no. 9, joined by the Harvard Glee Club, the Radcliffe Choral Society and the New England Conservatory Chorus.
