A cocky radio reporter sets out to prove an ex-convict is innocent in the murder of a mob boss.
Edward Norris ("Eddie" - keeps it simple) is accused of a gruesome murder and it falls to journalist "Jeff" (Chester Morris) and the sister of the accused "Susan" (Jean Parker) to get to bottom of this rather routine mystery, Morris' efforts here reminded me of the reporter character from "Battle of the River Plate" (albeit 14 years beforehand) - a fast talking, opportunistic journalist with plenty of patter and spirit; and in this film Parker has some opportunities of her own to portray a whole gamut of emotions from rage through to doting sister - and there is ham a-plenty for us all. Nothing at all memorable about this - but it's not dreadful.
