Takes place in the early 2000s, during a period when the country's political situation is heavily influenced by the US military attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq. Despite the years that have passed since the end of the war, the shadow of fear and terror has once again reminded people of the dark days of the past. The plot revolves around New Year's Eve in a not-so-wealthy family living in Abadan. The father of the family is an addict and is desperate for drugs, which has disrupted the household atmosphere. However, the sudden occurrence of a catastrophic event changes everything, and the family realizes that in the short distance between life and death, they need each other more than ever.

After British forces defeated Italian forces in North Africa, Germany tapped Gen. Rommel to drive eastward along the North African coast to seize the Suez Canal. British forces were routed, and it came down to a stand at El-Alamein. There, British forces kept the Germans bottled up and unable to overrun Egypt. After several long, bloody battles, and with assistance from Australian and New Zealand forces, the Allies won the day. Rommel signaled Hitler that the cause was lost. He was not granted permission to retreat but began withdrawing troops, leaving the Italians alone to be trounced by allied forces.

During WWII, a German soldier kills a stranger and subsequently falls victim to a cycle of supernatural encounters.

In December 1987, the (first) Palestinian Intifada broke out and the Occupied Territories were set alight with a mass wave of demonstrations, protesting the ongoing Israeli occupation – the largest scale, longest-running ones seen in the area since 1967. The IDF was sent in to quash the uprising and before long, TV screens across the country were inundated with footage of burning tyres, stones thrown about, and baton-wielding Israeli soldiers chasing after teens and children. In the face of this new reality that made the question of the Occupied Territories the single most pressing issue of the time, the Jerusalem Film Festival went ahead and commissioned the following project. The result is a classic, Heffner-esque film – an intelligent labyrinth containing the most fundamental of Israeli tropes: The Holocaust; Arabs; us vs. them – all of which find themselves clashing and intermingling, and ultimately rendering the viewers helpless and cringing with awkwardness.

After a car accident Zahra loses her memory. Psychiatrists are desperate about the case while Zahra is in search for her lost daughter. After 24 years she is awake once again and begin to search for her then 6 years old girl but everything is different now.

In 1940, a young teacher who dreams of the Mediterranean is appointed to a remote village in Lozère. Despite the war and the savagery of the world, he awakens in his pupils a spirit of peace and humanism. But he will have to leave the refuge of childhood and books to become involved in the obligatory violence of the resistance.

Late in the 1980s, two documentary film makers found six German men, all in their 60s and 70s, who had been soldiers in the German invasion of the USSR in 1942. Each carried an 8mm camera into battle and they still had their film. "Mein Kreig" alternates between interviews with these older men, now apologetic, philosophical, or defiant about their participation, and the footage they shot. It's chronological: basic training, the train trip East, roof-top vistas of war-torn Warsaw, peasants in Belarus, the downing with carbine volleys of a Russian plane, winter, a holiday at the Black Sea, mud, impassable roads, death, destruction and retreat. "Home, that was the front," one says.
