Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date was a Canadian television talk show series which aired on CBC Television from 1963 to 1975. Host Elwood Glover previously hosted noon-time programming on CBC Radio from 1956. A new studio was set up at the Four Seasons Hotel, near the CBC broadcast headquarters on Jarvis Street in Toronto. The following year, Luncheon Date made its CBC television debut while the audio portion was simultaneously broadcast on CBC Radio. Luncheon Date featured Leon Mangoff as announcer and sidekick. Glover announced in February 1975 that he would leave the programme, after conducting more than 10 000 interviews. Glover had worked for the CBC a total of 37 years at that point, but wanted to continue with the CBC in a less intensive role. However, Glover would leave the CBC on 1 June 1975 for a weekend host job at CKEY radio. The CBC would begin a new noon-time talk show program in September 1975, the Bob McLean Show.

Polka Dot Shorts was a children's television show from TVOntario in Canada, but which has been broadcast around the world. It was created, produced and story edited by Jed MacKay, creator of TVO's successful show Join In!, and veteran children's TV writer/producer/composer. Approximately 180 episodes were produced from 1993–2001, all of which were produced by MacKay and directed by Michael McNamara. The series won a Gemini Award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television in 2000 for Best Pre-School Program or Series. The show is based on the earlier Polka Dot Door, and stars that show's characters Polkaroo, Humpty, Dumpty, Marigold and Bear in their own world. The characters are portrayed by "physical theater" actors in large costumes; Marigold's performer, for example, had a ballet and circus background. The actors' ability to convey a wide range of emotion with neither moving mouths or eyes was seen as truly awe-inspiring. Charles P. Schott was a Gemini Awards Finalist for Best Performer in a Pre-School Series, in 2002. Originally, each episode started with a human host who would introduce each episode to a gathering of children as she was about to read the story from a book. The stories themselves were dramatized by actors in large suits, playing the puppets from Polka Dot Door, while the reader provided the dialogue. A new character was added to the Polka Dot Door family - Polkaroo's pet, named Bibble. Although Bibble was only capable of making sounds that loosely resemble "bibblebibblebibble", he was able to bibble in various tones which indicated his mood.

The Superstar Chef Challenge is a reality/competition special produced for the Food Network Canada. Filmed at the state of the art Compass Group Canada Culinary Arts Demonstration Theatre and Kitchen Laboratory in Humber College's North Campus, it serves as a pilot for a potential series. Hosted by Kevin Brauch, the would-be-chefs were selected from a cross-country lot that send in a five-minute tape of themselves cooking their signature dish. The winner for the 1st season was Dana McIntyre and as part of the prize she got a co-starring role in the Food Network Canada show Just One Bite. The show's supervising producer for the first season was Jenna Keane. The special was filmed during Humber College's March 2005 Reading Week; it is known that Humber will host the series if it is a success. The second season is currently being shot in Toronto, Ontario.

Yam Roll is a Canadian animated television series created by Jono Howard and Jon Izen airing on CBC Television in Canada, produced by March Entertainment. The series was first broadcast on February 6, 2006. It can be viewed on Saturday at 10:00am and 10:17am on local CBC channels as well as ABC2 and HBO Asia. The show premiered on November 20 on Cartoon Network's online video service. Yam Roll shows can currently be seen on the web at http://ilaugh.com/, as well as on Hulu.

It was hosted by Steve Paikin, and featured regular guests and invited analysts. The show aired on Friday nights at 11PM, and Sundays at 3PM and 11PM. It was cancelled at the same time as the nightly newsmagazine Studio 2. The new series The Agenda incorporated elements of both shows.

CBC News: Sunday Night was a television newsmagazine series in Canada, which aired on Sunday evenings at 10 p.m. on CBC Television. It was, essentially, the Sunday night equivalent of The National, although it took a more features-oriented approach than its weekday counterpart. The program also aired on CBC Newsworld at 9 p.m., and is repeated at midnight and 5 a.m. the following morning. The program, hosted by Evan Solomon and Carole MacNeil, covered the week's news. It should not be confused with CBC News: Sunday, a Sunday morning newsmagazine hosted by the same team, but which had a different programming focus, although the programs frequently shared features. Sunday Night replaced Sunday Report, a long-running but more standard newscast, in fall 2004. The program ended in 2009, and was replaced with a Sunday edition of The National.

Headline Hunters is a Canadian game show that appeared on CTV from 1972 to 1983. It was originally created by Nick Nicholson and E. Roger Muir. It was hosted by Jim Perry, who hosted two other Canadian game shows and several American game shows concurrently with its run. Dave Devall, who worked with Perry on the aforementioned two series, served as the announcer and was a de-facto co-host for this series.. It was a Glen-Warren Production for the CTV Television Network. During the final broadcast, Jim Perry applauded the long-running show for promoting news literacy. Perry carried many of his pet phrases with him on his later American game show, Sale of the Century, which he would host for six years.

Born to Be is a documentary television series that aired on the Canadian music station MuchMusic. The program documented and featured archival footage of interviews with house-hold name music celebrities of their success, i.e. Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Marianas Trench and 50 Cent. Each episode centreed on individual music celebrity's childhoods, their musical influences, sources of inspiration, and their achievements that have led to their successful music career.

Wawatay Kids TV is a Canadian children's television program on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. It is geared to kids aged 5 to 10. The series is about a group of children who belong to "The Little Eagles" clubhouse. Each episode they are faced with a problem, and with the help of Sampson Sasquatch and Megesi the Eagle they learn something new. Each episode teaches aboriginal skills and lessons. The series is produced by Wawatay Native Communications Society, and was created by Michael Dubé. It is filmed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay in Northwestern Ontario, Canada.

Scully: The World Show is a Canadian talk show hosted by Robert Scully, who has interviewed some of the world's most prominent and famous personalities. Each week, Scully—once dubbed "the best interviewer on television" by the Montreal daily La Presse—discusses topical issues with Nobel laureates, heads of state, royalty, authors, financiers, athletes, designers, diplomats and philanthropists. The show, which debuted on November 5, 1988, has been taped worldwide. It is produced in Montreal, Quebec, Canada by Télémission Information Inc. and airs in syndication. The talk show was first syndicated for the 1998-'99 season and is distributed by American Public Television.

Puppet People was a TV series produced from 1973-1975 at CFCF-TV Montreal and telecast on most CTV affiliates throughout Canada. It was hosted by ventriloquist Jerry Layne who worked with his "friends" Lester and Herbie, puppets created for the show. Puppet People combined pre-taped comedy sketches featuring a cast of full size figures. These sketches were played into a game show featuring children answering questions based on the sketches. Live Studio Audience Puppet People was free to attend for a live studio audience, I am writing this paragraph as one who used to go to tappings as a child especially on my birthday to the studios of CFCF at 405 Ogilvy Avenue in Montreal. The opening theme was played on Kazoos by kids in the audience including a chant of "Puppet People, Puppet People, Puppet People" then the kazoos would go "do do do do, do do do do do ..." ending with a cheer. The series was the first production for producer/director Sidney M. Cohen. The Lester puppet once appeared on an episode of The Love Boat.

Wicks was a Canadian talk show television series which aired on CBC Television from 1979 to 1981.

Dooley Gardens is a Canadian television sitcom, which aired on CBC Television in 1999. The series was set in a hockey rink in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, inherited by Skye Dooley after the death of her father. The show's cast also included Mary Walsh as canteen operator Marilyn Benoit, Andy Jones as manager Eddie Hawco, Andrew Younghusband as the possibly-crazy zamboni driver Tracy, and Ron Hynes as Johnny Shea. Younghusband and Edward Riche were the show's writers. Original music was composed by Sandy Morris and Paul Kinsman.

Bandwagon with Bob Francis is a Canadian music variety television series which aired on the CBC between September 21, 1972 and June 21, 1973 then February 13 to March 28, 1975. The show was hosted by Bob Francis who presented big band music performances. Bob Francis sometimes performed as vocalist and trumpet player Guido Basso also performed. Aubrey Tadman and Garry Ferrier produced and Barry Cranston directed.

Good Morning Canada was a national weekend breakfast television show aired on the CTV Television Network in Canada from circa fall 2001 to early 2009. The program was pre-taped during the week, and aired twice each weekend, Saturday morning at 8 and Sunday morning at 7, with news inserts provided by CTV Newsnet. The show's content consists mainly of feature segments originally produced for local CTV newscasts. The show was always produced at one of the network's stations other than flagship CFTO Toronto, moving every three to six months. There was a single host at any one time, generally a personality from the then-current producing station. Unlike the weekend editions of American network morning shows, the program was separate from CTV's weekday morning program Canada AM. In the early 1990s, the network carried a one-hour weekend program, Canada AM Weekend, re-airing the show's best segments of the week. Good Morning Canada launched several years after Canada AM Weekend was cancelled and has no connection to the earlier program. Due to low ratings and network cutbacks, the show was discontinued. The last episode aired on February 1, 2009.

Garage Matches is a Canadian serial drama television series that follows the competitors as they compete head-to-head against each other for the title of Garage Matches Champion. Each episode typically features a variety of exciting, daring, shocking, disgusting, and most importantly, entertaining competitions. The show is produced by GR Productions and airs on the CBC Network in Canada. In August 2007 it was announced that Garage Matches will continue for a second season. The second season will consist of 10 episodes, running weekly uninterrupted by repeats.

What Were They Thinking? is a Canadian documentary television series that debuted on August 9, 2006 on The Comedy Network. It is produced by Soapbox Productions. It would normally air Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. It is not currently airing new episodes on television.

Arts '73, Arts '74 and Arts '75 was a Canadian television series which aired on CBC Television between March 8, 1973 and June 22, 1975. The show was hosted by Helen Hutchinson, Sol Littman and Pat Patterson Some of the featured people included painter A.Y. Jackson, radio producer Andrew Allan, painter Jack Chambers, film historian John Kobal, tapestry maker Tamara Jaworski and composer Marek Norman. Arts was a newsmagazine which featured items and guests from the subject of arts including visual, literary and performing arts in Canada and international.

Midday was a television newsmagazine series on CBC Television, which ran from January 1985 to 2000, replacing local noon-hour newscasts on CBC stations. The show, which aired from noon to 1 p.m. on weekday afternoons, presented a mix of news, lifestyle and entertainment features. The show would open with a 10-minute CBC News summary, usually read by Sheldon Turcotte in the news studio, and then move to another studio for the main segment of the program. The news summary would later become a simulcast of the CBC Newsworld hourly news update that was live for each time zone. Its original hosts were Bill Cameron, Keith Morrison and Valerie Pringle. The original producer was Michael Harris and the series was directed for its first four seasons by Sidney M. Cohen, who later became executive producer of Canada AM for CTV. Morrison, who initially rotated with Cameron, left after a year and Cameron left several years later, and was replaced by Peter Downie; Downie left in 1989 and was replaced by Ralph Benmergui. Pringle left the show to become host of Canada AM, and was replaced by one of show's regular contributors, Tina Srebotnjak. Benmergui later left to become host of Friday Night! with Ralph Benmergui, and was replaced by Kevin Newman. Newman subsequently left to join ABC News in the United States, and was replaced by Brent Bambury.

Loving Friends and Perfect Couples was a Canadian television soap opera, which aired in 1983. Originally aired on the pay TV network First Choice, the series was later rerun on Global. The show was billed as an "adult" prime time soap opera, including unedited nudity, profanity and simulated sex. The show's cast included Keir Dullea, Ross Petty, Lisa Howard, Mimi Kuzyk and Cali Timmins.

Yes You Can was a Canadian children's television series broadcast on CBC Television from 1980 to 1983. Hosted by singer Kevin Gillis, and co-hosted by Trevor Bruneau and Tammy Bourne, the half-hour live-action series was sports-themed and encouraged fitness and good health. Also featured were the comedic Coach Cuddles Ford, and two animated characters, Harry Hog and Body Man, voiced by Michael Magee. Each show also featured an appearance from a professional athlete, including Gordie Howe, Karen Kain and Toller Cranston. The show was written by Jack Hutchinson and Jamie Wayne, produced by Bill Hunt, directed by Ron Piggott and executive produced by Michael Lansbury. Yes You Can was repeated on YTV in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Kevin Gillis went on to create and produce The Christmas Raccoons animated special - which lead to The Raccoons On Ice and the Raccoons animated series. Many of the songs Gillis used the Yes You Can series were later re-recorded and used in the Raccoons animated series.
