Teen Win, Lose or Draw is the teenage version of the sketchpad charades game show, Win, Lose or Draw. It was produced by Burt & Bert Productions and Buena Vista Television; the show was co-produced by Jay Wolpert Productions for its first season and Stone Stanley Productions for the last two. The show aired on the Disney Channel from April 29, 1989 to April 28, 1990, and again from September 10, 1990 to September 26, 1992. The first season of shows were taped at the Disney MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida, and then moved to Hollywood Center Studios in California for the rest of the run.

Tang Ko (Feng Chun-Fan) is a martial arts director at a TV station. During the height of martial arts films, he was once very popular, but as the genre declined, so did his career. He became a man who could only talk about his past glories. Having long since divorced his wife, custody of his daughter Sin Yi (Ho Bik-Sing) was awarded to her mother. Tang himself is now dating a girlfriend, Li Yim-Hung (Ching Ho-Wai). One day his daughter arrives at his home, announcing that she wants to move in and live with him. After Sin Yi moves in, the father and daughter clash frequently and get into many amusing situations. Although the two share a genuine bond, Tang eventually comes to realise that he is not a capable father. Sin Yi ultimately moves back abroad to live with her birth mother. His girlfriend Yim-Hung also leaves him, marrying a wealthy man instead.

Michael Nesmith in Television Parts is a summer TV series run by NBC in 1985. It was a 30-minute comedy-variety series created by Michael Nesmith as a continuation of his Grammy Award-winning video production Elephant Parts, and earlier series PopClips. The first episode was a stand-alone television special which aired on March 7, 1985. The following series premiered on June 14, 1985. The show was a mix of music videos mixed in with comedy sketches, commercial parodies, and general silliness. It was hosted by Nesmith himself, who also participated in many of the sketches. Television Parts also featured guest appearances by a number of comedians, including Martin Mull, Whoopi Goldberg, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Martin, The Funny Boys and Garry Shandling, whose appearance on the show was the seed for It's Garry Shandling's Show. One of the show's featured pieces, "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey" was later picked up by Saturday Night Live. The show was cancelled after one short summer season that same year. It would return in 1985 as two separate home video releases on VHS and Betamax, Television Parts Home Companion and Dr. Duck's Super Secret All-Purpose Sauce. The first was a 40-minute compilation of original show featuring the comedy skits and music by Michael Nesmith only. Dr. Duck's Super Secret All-Purpose Sauce was a 90-minute montage of sketch comedy with a variety of stars and music videos. The stars included Bobcat Goldthwait, Ed Begley, Jr., Jimmy Buffett, Rosanne Cash, Whoopi Goldberg, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and Garry Shandling.

Season one had four five-time champions who won trips, later competing for a home stereo in a "Tournament of Champions." Notably, winning a 2-slice toaster became an iconic prize. Trivia Trap is an American game show produced by Mark Goodson Productions. It was created by producer Goodson and originally ran from October 8, 1984 to April 5, 1985 on ABC. The game featured two teams of three contestants each who competed against each other to answer trivia questions in various formats. Bob Eubanks was the host, and Gene Wood announced during the first two weeks. Charlie O'Donnell announced during the third week and was replaced by Bob Hilton for the remainder of the series.
