The resultant insect-like mutants, organized by leader Spi drax, into the Terror Troops, threatened to destroy the universe. Piesočná potvorka (lit. The Sand Creature) is a 1985 Czech television miniseries based on Edith Nesbit's 1904 children's novel Five Children and It. The four Majer children—Janka, Braň, Cyril and Vladek—spend holidays together at a cottage, with their aunt Marta, who takes care of them in their parents' absence. One day, the older children decide to dig in an old sandbox and find an ancient wonder: Brontofusika, a prehistoric creature that can grant wishes. So Janka wishes that everyone would be as beautiful as the heroes from a fairy tale. It happens. No one recognizes the children in this disguise, not even their own aunt, which brings a lot of funny but also unpleasant situations. But the magic only works until sunset!

Carrott's Lib is a British satirical comedy series broadcast between 9 October 1982 and 30 December 1983. It starred Jasper Carrott and a cast of many comedians. The show was not just a satirical comedy, it was also a sketch show with many comedians of the future, most famously Chris Barrie & Jan Ravens. Unlike most comedy series it was broadcast live, albeit with some pre-recorded elements.

Pictionary is a children's game show based on the board game of the same name, in which two teams of three children competed in a drawing game for prizes. This version was hosted by Brian Robbins, and aired in between June and September of 1989 with 65 episodes. The show was distributed by MCA TV and was a production of Barry & Enright Productions. The score was kept by "Felicity", who turned a knob to pour plastic beads into a container until they reached the amount of the team's score. Felicity inexplicably left the show for several weeks during the middle of the run, during which time the score was kept by Robbins. Rules explanations and close calls were handled by a bald, mustachioed judge nicknamed "Judge Mental" who sat in a mock-up judge's bench atop the scoring device, and would always be booed by the audience upon his introduction.

Dead Ernest was a 1982 UK TV supernatural sitcom set in heaven starring Andrew Sachs in the role of Ernest Springer. It was broadcast on ITV from 15th February 1982 and was the first sitcom made by the newly formed Central Television. Ernest wins half a million pounds on the football pools. Unfortunately he is killed by a blow to the head from a stray champagne bottle cork. He subsequently ascends to heaven. Although the authorities in heaven admit that his death was an administrative error, as his kidneys have already been donated he cannot go back down to earth. The notion of a sitcom set in the afterlife was an intriguing one, but despite the original idea, some promising comic setpieces, Sachs' undoubted comedic abilities, and support from other seasoned comic actors such as Ken Jones, it was regarded as a disappointing effort, and only lasted for one series of seven episodes.

Klokhuis is an educational show for early teenagers produced by Omroep NTR of the Netherlands. The show started in 1988. It is broadcast every weekday at 18:25 on Nederland 3 and lasts about 15 minutes. The subjects vary wildly, but often use an angle that is uncommon in other shows, which also makes it popular with adults. Quite often, factories are visited, where a complete production process is explained. The serious parts are interspersed with funny sketches, which sometimes have aspects that only adults would understand, whilst still remaining funny for children. After 25 years, almost everybody in the Netherlands knows the show and generations grew up with it. It has become a so-called institution, which not much tv-programs have achieved.

The title characters are played by Lasse Åberg and Klasse Möllberg. The title characters have recorded many songs together with the band Electric Banana Band. The TV series did also broadcast TV series as Lucky Luke. In early 2000s Trazan & Banarne released the CD-ROM game Speltajm.
