Stars on Ice was a weekly television ice show, broadcast from 1976 to 1981 on the CTV Television Network in Canada. The series was hosted by Alex Trebek and later, Doug Crosley, and featured skaters such as Toller Cranston. The program was produced on an ice rink set up at Studio 6 of CFTO-TV in Toronto. The series was produced and directed by Michael Steele, had a regular cast of 14 world-class ice professionals, most of whom lived and taught skating locally in and around Toronto. The variety show format on ice consisted of a glitzy "show opener" by the regular cast of skaters and a bigger budget production number with elaborate set pieces in the middle of the half-hour. Rounding out the half hour were famous and novelty-act figure skaters, vaudeville-type acts, and "affordable" non-skating celebrities at the b-list phase of their careers, such as Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz formerly of The Monkees, Eddie Mekka of Laverne & Shirley, and 1960s recording artist Donovan. Due to being only minimally dependent on language, and its unusual ice/variety show format, the series went on to be widely syndicated throughout the world.

KidZone is a Canadian TV show for adolescents that aired on Knowledge in British Columbia from 1989 to 2001. The show is also notable for providing a start for several young stars, including Sarah Chalke, Devon Sawa, Jai West, Kea Wong and Taheer Mohamed. KidZone initially began as a series of informative skits and interviews. Following the education mandate of the broadcaster, the show managed to present anti-smoking, safety and environmental issues with funding from provincial government agencies and private companies. The entire cast of the show were children, who acted in various sketches and portrayed journalists. At the age of 12, Chalke was the program's environmental reporter. One of the recurring sketches on KidZone was Kerrisdale V6M 1Z6, which used a style similar to Beverly Hills, 90210 and Degrassi Junior High to present youth issues. Eventually, KidZone shifted away from its journalistic style and became a docudrama about high school based on the Kerrisdale sketch. This version of the show also aired in America as Kerrisdale High. At the end of its broadcast run in 2001, KidZone was rebranded as KidZone Live. Much like Degrassi Talks, the show featured KidZone actors participating in sketches and call-in discussions on topics oriented toward young viewers. Among the issues covered on KidZone Live were injury prevention, road safety and eliminating racial discrimination.

The Stories That MADE Us is a vibrant journey through the past, present, and future of Canadian storytelling — a portrait of a nation seen through the films and television that have moved us most. Guided by host George Stroumboulopoulos, the series weaves together voices from across the country — stories of laughter, heartbreak, fear, and wonder. Each anecdote is a fragment of something larger: a living narrative revealing the soul of a young nation still defining itself. What is Canadian identity? Maybe it’s impossible to pin down. But in the stories we tell, we begin to see it more clearly. The series traces these threads across decades: the themes that endure, the questions that echo, and the new voices reshaping the conversation. We are at a threshold moment. Canadian storytelling, once overlooked, is now breaking onto the world stage. The Stories That MADE Us is offering a collective reflection on where we’ve been, who we are, and where our stories might take us next.

Howie Do It is a Canadian/American comedy television series, co-commissioned by Global and NBC, that stars Howie Mandel. The series features practical jokes in the vein of earlier shows like Just for Laughs, Punk'd or Candid Camera – the supposed twist being that the cameras are in the open, not hidden as in the other series. Mandel appears, often incognito, in several of the jokes. After the big reveal, either Howie or one of his assistants then delivers the line "This is Howie Do It!" The theme song to the show is a remix of "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan. The show premiered on NBC and Global TV on January 9, 2009. Mandel also served as an executive producer of the series, along with Scott Hallock and Kevin Healy of Spy TV, and Morgan Elliot and Michael Rotenberg. Six episodes were ordered. The studio segments were filmed at Caesars Windsor August 24, 25 and 26, 2008. Tickets to the tapings were given out to new members of Harrah's Total Rewards program at the casino. The head of NBC's unscripted department, Craig Plestis, said that NBC's choice to share the costs of the series with Global was part of "trying to figure out new ways to do business as shows become more expensive."
