The Alan Thicke Show was a Canadian talk show hosted by Alan Thicke. It aired on CTV between 1980 and 1983. The show aired in different versions also re-titled as Prime Cuts and as Fast Company. After the departure of the Alan Hamel Show from CTV's daytime lineup in 1980, Alan Thicke stepped in with his own successful one-hour talk show. Airing from September 1980 to fall of 1983, Thicke's show also birthed Prime Cuts, a prime-time half-hour series, using segments from the show. Produced at BCTV Vancouver, it facilitated easier access for U.S. guests. Thicke's Canadian run lasted three years before he moved to the U.S. for a similar but less successful syndicated show, Thicke of the Night.

The Glo Friends is a television series based on the Glo Friends toyline, originally aired in 1986 as a segment of My Little Pony 'n Friends, that only lasted one season. My Little Pony aired the first 15 minutes, and the second half rotated among MoonDreamers, Potato Head Kids, and Glo Friends. The show was made by Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions. Fantadroms is a Latvian children's sci-fi cartoon by production company Studio Dauka. The episodes were released sporadically between 1985 and 1995, and all thirteen of them were released as a collection on DVD in 2006. The hero of the show is a yellow shape-shifting robot called Indrikis XIII, who usually takes the form of a cat. He flies through space, mediating various disputes between the other characters. One recurring dynamic in the show is the love triangle between Indrikis XIII and Receklite - the flying purple cat-octopus with whom he is in love with, and the rat – who is in love with Indrikis. Other recurring characters include a cow, a (human) woman, and an amorphous pink blob. The episode "Salt" won the Lielais Kristaps award for best animation in 1985. The show has no dialogue and drama unfolds through pantomime and expressive noises such as grunts, groans, and laughter, which allows the show to cross language barriers.

Learn To Read is an adult educational TV series that consists of 30 programs, hosted by entrepreneur and literacy advocate Wally Amos. Co-instructors include Doris Biscoe and Charlotte Scot. Bruce Jenner guest-starred on the first episode. This was based on 27 million Americans having almost no reading skills. On Friday, there is a review of the week. The final program reviews the entire series. In every episode a "Getting Along" segment is used, with either Sylvia Glover or Jim Johnson as instructors. Aside, there was Les the Letter Man and Nancy the Word Woman. Finally, there was Billy Green, referred as the "Book Guy", telling viewers to get their workbook. Learn to Read was produced by Kentucky Educational Television in association with WXYZ-TV, and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The program was produced at WXYZ's studios in Southfield, Michigan, with additional production done by KET in Kentucky. The program was televised on many PBS member stations, as well as syndicated to commercial stations. The program was also seen locally on WXYZ-TV, generally weekday mornings at 5AM.
