This series by Jos Gevers and Jeroom Verten is set in 1958 and revolves around the friendship between the wealthy insurance broker Sander Slisse and the simple Cesar. Other characters are Slisse's wife Melanie, his sons Rik and Jan, his daughter Tinneke and the eternal factor who always comes begging for a drop of gin. Joanna Geldof also contributed to this series. The sitcom was interpreted in Antwerp. The series was also adapted into a play, in which other actors took on the roles.

King of the Castle is a British children's television serial made by HTV for ITV in 1977. Written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, the series is a surreal tale centred around a lonely young boy, Roland, who lives unhappily in a council flat with his father and stepmother. Escaping from a gang of local bullies in a malfunctioning lift, Roland finds himself transported to a strange fantasy environment where people and places are twisted variations of those he sees in his real life. Philip Da Costa starred as Roland, while other prominent roles were played by Talfryn Thomas, Fulton Mackay, Milton Johns and Angela Richards.

Shoot for the Stars is a game show created and produced by Bob Stewart, and aired on the NBC television network. The show aired from January 3 to September 30, 1977, and was produced in New York City. During most of its run, it had originally videotaped at NBC's headquarters in Rockefeller Center, but some weeks of episodes were recorded at Studio 50 at CBS, also known as the Ed Sullivan Theater. Shoot for The Stars was the last NBC game show to originate from New York City. Geoff Edwards hosted the show, with Bob Clayton as announcer. Frequent celebrity players included Debralee Scott, Nipsey Russell, Anita Gillette, Tony Randall, and Bill Cullen.

Sha Na Na is a syndicated television variety series that ran from 1977 to 1981 for a total of 97 episodes, hosted by the popular rock & roll/comedy group of the same name. The show was produced by Pierre Cossette and originally distributed by LBS Communications. Sony Pictures Television currently owns the rights to the series. Donny York, Jocko Marcellino, and Screamin' Scott Simon of the TV group continue to tour as Sha Na Na. The show featured the group performing hits from the 1950s and 1960s along with comedy skits along the show's nostalgic theme but with a contemporary twist, with performances from that era's well-known acts as well as popular acts of the 1970s. Among the supporting cast members featured in the series were: Jane Dulo and Pamela Myers; Avery Schreiber, Kenneth Mars and Phillp Roth; June Gable and Soupy Sales; Michael Sklar; and Karen Hartman.

Everyman

Everyman is a British television documentary series that aired on BBC One in a late-night slot on Sunday evenings between 1977 and 2005. Its subject matter tended to be focused on moral and religious issues, often in the form of a film in which individuals would discuss their thoughts. One edition from 1990, A Game of Soldiers concerned a group of soldiers exploring their feelings about being trained to kill. Throughout much of its time on air, series of Everyman aired alternately with Heart of the Matter, a debate series which featured somewhat similar topics. Both series were cancelled in the 2000s after the BBC revamped the output of its religious programming.
