Big Ron Manager is a television documentary series based on Ron Atkinson's efforts as a troubleshooter at the English football club Peterborough United, at the time playing in Football League Two. The series was screened on Sky TV in 2006. Originally, the show was going to feature Swindon Town and Sky spent around four weeks filming there before being asked to leave by the Swindon management. Peterborough United received a fee of around £100,000 from Sky TV for access to the changing rooms and for Ron Atkinson to assist the rookie manager Steve Bleasdale. Bleasdale was unhappy at Atkinson's involvement in the changing room and subsequently banned him and the cameras from the changing rooms on matchdays. However, later in the series Bleasdale relented after being overruled by Chairman Barry Fry. Some scenes caused quite a stir in Peterborough when the show was aired, including a dressing room brawl between Mark Arber and Paul Carden and Bleasdale rowing with youngsters Sean St Ledger and Danny Crow. St Ledger joked about suing Sky TV, after claiming the programme showed him as the team's bad boy, which he denied. The media alighted on this, and he was later forced to clarify that the statement was in fact, a joke.

A British Sub goes missing at the end of WWII, leaving only one survivor. Everyone believes it lost to the bottom of the Baltic Sea, then 40 years later it reappears without a crew. The British government sends for the one surviving crew member (David Jason), who is now a marine biologist. With a new crew, Jason proceeds to trace the last known happenings on the sub. But this submarine has a life of its own and the new crew soon start showing characteristics of the old crew.

Dan Cruickshank's Marvels of the Modern Age is a BBC documentary series in which Dan Cruickshank traces the roots of Modernism and focuses on the movement's leading lights, such as Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, and the century's most seismic political events including the rise of Nazi Germany. The series was first broadcast on BBC Two in 2006 to coincides with the exhibition Modernism: Designing a New World at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Make Your Play was a live, interactive quiz show, showing in the UK on the ITV Network, from Monday to Saturday, beginning after midnight. The show was launched on Friday 29 September 2006 on ITV and ITV Play. The prizes are greater than usually available on ITV Play, but as a result of this, callers are usually taken less often. In order to win money, viewers must either call in at a cost of 75p from a BT landline, or enter through the ITV website. If they are successful they will be placed on hold, then transferred live to the studio if they are lucky, where they go on to deliver their answer. Make Your Play has given over £3 million. It went over the £3 million mark on 1 July 2007, when a contestant by the name of Mr Joseph Percy said "next day". An on screen graphic was then shown saying "£3 Million Given Away" accompanied with a siren sound effect.

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Exclusive was a 5pm teatime programme which ran each weekday on ITV1 as a secondary spin-off to series six of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. It was co-hosted by series five runner-up Sheree Murphy and Phillip Schofield in 2006. It did not return for a second series.

The Singing Estate was a four-part constructed documentary series made by North One Television for Five and FiveArts Cities in the UK, shot from January 2006 to April 2006 and transmitted from 11 June to 2 July 2006. On the Blackbird Leys estate, in Oxford, conductor Ivor Setterfield auditioned 140 hopeful amateur singers, eventually picking 40 for 'Ivor's Choir' as they were then known. The aim was to teach these singers, many of whom did not read music, several well-known pieces for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall three months later. The programme followed the audition process in some depth, showing hopefuls and the hopeless, and Ivor's reaction to them. After the choir line-up was finalised, with some singers held in reserve, they began their public career with a performance of "The Wild Rover" at an Oxford United home game. In subsequent programmes they learned new pieces including Carl Orff's Carmina Burana; visited Italy, where they sang O Sole Mio with Italian tenor Franco Malapena; held a marquee concert in Blackbird Leys; travelled to Liverpool, where they rehearsed with a full orchestra for the first time and finally went to London for the big performance. Shortly before performance day they were surprised with the news that they would be singing You'll Never Walk Alone with popular classical vocal group G4. The concert took place on 20 April 2006, and was recorded for radio broadcast by Classic FM, and partially included in the TV series.

Playdate is a British television dating programme that was made by Hamma & Glamma Productions for ITV. It was screened Monday to Fridays on ITV Play between 8.00pm and 10.00pm, and daily on ITV2 between 1.00am and 4.00am. Billed as "the UK’s first interactive TV dating show", the show's format is based around speed dating. The show had one format: 7 days a week, the show was interactive: various singletons of both sexes were invited into the studio, and members of the public were invited to phone in and talk with the studio guests, known as "datees". Viewers were also invited to send text messages and picture messages to the "datees". The show's presenters were Brendan Courtney, Dave O'Reilly, Giles Vickers Jones, Kat Shoob, Katy Pullinger, Zoe Hardman and former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler. Playdate was axed with its final show being aired on 17 December. The Mint was shown in its slot on ITV2 and The Mint Extra shown in its slot on ITV Play. The Mint ceased broadcasting in 2007.

The Daily Quiz!, presented by Kat Shoob, launched on 13 March 2006 and was produced by Big Game TV Productions. On 19 May 2006, officers from the Fraud Squad raided the offices of Big Game TV, makers of The Daily Quiz! after a BBC Radio 4 investigation for the You and Yours programme found that receptionists were told to ignore all incoming calls for long periods of time while 150–200 calls per minute were clocked up at 75p a time.
