Shi Xiaoqun accidentally obtained the "Wordless Book of Heaven", a martial arts manual. The various evil sects fought over it, and was all poisoned by false copies created by Prefect Guo Wenqin. To obtain the antidote, they were forced to surrender their martial arts and correct their evil ways. These various martial arts was compiled into another martial arts manual - "Worded Book of Heaven" by Wenqin, and given to Ku'er to master it to do good. Unexpectedly, Huangfu Hui used Ku'er to avenge herself, and even set up a demon cult to kill innocent people indiscriminately. Xiaoqun mastered the martial arts in the "Wordless Book of Heaven" to stop the two from continuing to do evil.

It was canceled after six regular episodes and 1 half-hour pilot, which aired as a special on December 7, 1984. Off the Rack premiered as a regular series in the middle of the 1984-1985 television season as a mid-season replacement on ABC on the same day as Mr. Belvedere.
