High Mountain Rangers was a weekly television series about a group of highly trained wilderness search and rescue/law enforcement officers in Tahoe, Nevada. It starred Robert Conrad as Jesse Hawkes and also starred his two sons, Christian Conrad and Shane Conrad. Robert's daughter Joan was the executive producer. Only 12 episodes were broadcast, from January 2, 1988 until April 9, 1988 on CBS, before the low-rated show was cancelled. Although the series lasted just one season, it had a spin-off titled Jesse Hawkes. That show was canceled after only six episodes.

Fun House was an American children's television game show that aired from September 5, 1988 to April 13, 1991. Two teams, each consisting of a boy and a girl, played messy games and answered questions to win a chance to run through an obstacle-strewn Fun House at the end of the show. It was hosted by J. D. Roth, who was assisted by cheerleading twins Jacqueline "Jackie" and Samantha "Sammi" Forrest. The announcer on the syndicated version was John "Tiny" Hurley. He was replaced for the Fox version by Michael Chambers, a.k.a. "MC Mike." For its first two years, Fun House aired in syndication, but for its last season it was picked up by Fox Broadcasting Company and renamed "Fox's Fun House." Fun House was produced by Stone Television, in association with and distributed by: Lorimar-Telepictures, Lorimar Television, Telepictures and Warner Bros. Television.

'Abolição' shows how much the liberation of the enslaved transformed the structures of Brazilian society, both in the countryside and in the city, and the changes generated in the lives of black people themselves. Journalist Lucas, in turn, is a freed black man who believes in peaceful integration between whites and blacks.

Barney and the Backyard Gang is a direct-to-video series produced by The Lyons Group and was produced from October 13, 1988 to October 20, 1991. This series launched the stardom of the PBS television show Barney & Friends. Music for the Barney and the Backyard Gang videos was created by Stephen Bates Baltes and Phillip Parker. The series was a regional success, but only a moderate success throughout the rest of the country. Then one day, in 1991, Larry Rifkin, then head of Connecticut Public Television, rented a Barney video for his daughter Leora. He liked the concept and talked to Leach about possibly putting Barney on television through the Public Broadcasting Service. Rock with Barney was the last video in the series before the television show debuted. Also, only four of the kids from the videos (Michael, Luci, Tina and Derek) were carried over to the television show.

Wheel of Fortune is a British television game show created by Merv Griffin. Contestants compete to solve word puzzles, similar to those used in Hangman, to win cash and prizes. The title refers to the show's giant carnival wheel that contestants spin throughout the course of the game to determine their cash and/or prizes. The programme aired between 19 July 1988 and 21 December 2001 and was produced by Scottish Television for the ITV network and mostly follows the same general format from the original version of the programme from the United States.

Two police officers investigate a series of brutal murders in which the victims have had bodily organs removed. Raising Miranda is a television series aired on CBS in 1988 as part of its fall lineup. Raising Miranda is the story of Donald Marshack, a Racine, Wisconsin contractor who suddenly found himself a single parent when his wife Bonnie had abandoned him and their 15 year old daughter, Miranda, in order to go and "find herself". Despite this rather grim premise, the show was billed as a situation comedy, the humor being derived from undomestic Donald now being forced to serve as both father and mother to a teenage girl. Bryan Cranston played Donald's brother-in-law, Russell. Audiences apparently found the premise a little too grim and the program lasted only two months.

Hale and Pace are an English comedy duo who have starred in several TV sketch series.

Richmond Hill was an Australian television

Macauley is a swagman on the road in the 1940s looking for work. He's a laid back, laconic sort of bloke but when he gets landed with his daughter after his drunken play-girl wife in Adelaide makes him face up to what she believes are his responsibilities, neither he nor his daughter are ready for each other. But in the beginning he's all she's got, and at the end, she's all he's got.

Amor En Silencio is a Mexican telenovela, produced and broadcast by Televisa in 1989. The telenovela, which starred Erika Buenfil and Omar Fierro in the lead roles, is most remembered for its shocking scene in which the main heroine, Marisela and her fiancé Fernando are shot to death at their wedding by Fernando's lunatic sister, Mercedes. The infamous scene aired on a Friday night, and left the TV spectators in suspense until the following Monday episode aired. The theme song for the novela was "Amor en Silencio" by Dulce.

The Van Dyke Show is an American situation comedy, starring Dick Van Dyke and his son Barry Van Dyke. The series marked the first time the real-life father-son actors worked together. The Van Dyke Show premiered on CBS in October 1988.

Nick Thorne, a successful businessman whose company markets games, is pulled by his former partner Magnus into a game which appears far too real... The One Game is a four-part 1988 British television drama serial, produced by Central Independent Television and broadcast on ITV from 4 June to 25 June 1988. Set and filmed in Birmingham, it starred Patrick Malahide, Stephen Dillane, Pippa Haywood and Kate McKenzie, and was written by John Brown from a concept by Tony Benet.

That's love! is a British television sitcom about the domestic problems of a young married couple, lawyer Donald and designer Patsy.

Ramona is a Canadian children's television series which followed the life of eight-year-old title character Ramona Quimby. It was based on the Ramona book series by Beverly Cleary. The television series debuted on September 10, 1988, and its ten episodes spanned four months. The TV series was released on video by Lorimar Home Video, but when Lorimar Home Video was acquired by Warner Communications, video releases were now released by Warner Home Video. It was distributed by Ramona Productions and Atlantis Films, but when Atlantis Films was acquired by Alliance Films, Alliance Atlantis was the owner and was then by Alliance Films in 2008 airings because of the Alliance Atlantis collapse. Eight-year-old Ramona Quimby feels that no one really understands her. She's bright, imaginative, and according to her older sister, Beezus, a "pest". Every day she tries to find out more about herself and her world, with an optimism that only children possess. The series follows Ramona's adventures in school and at home as her family struggles with financial woes and the coming of a new baby.

Clarence is a 1988 BBC situation comedy starring Ronnie Barker and Josephine Tewson, written by Ronnie Barker under the pseudonym "Bob Ferris". It was Barker's final sitcom appearance before his retirement. Barker had previously faced some criticism over his employment of a stammer for comedic effect in Open All Hours. However, the slapstick potential of a short-sighted furniture shifter must have seemed irresistible. The series was inspired by The Removals Person by Hugh Leonard, an earlier programme in the 1971 LWT comedy series, Six Dates With Barker. Gentlemen and Players is a British television series produced by TVS Television for the ITV network. An aspirational late 1980s drama series, Gentlemen and Players dealt with the struggles and intrigues involving two business rivals, Bo Beaufort and Mike Savage. Two series were made between 1988 and 1989, comprising 13 episodes in total.

Always Afternoon is a 1988 Australian mini series about German internees in Australia. It was a co production between Germany and Australia. It inspired a series of paintings by Ross Watson.
