The Brothers Karamazov

The Brothers Karamazov is a murder mystery, a courtroom drama, and an exploration of erotic rivalry in a series of triangular love affairs involving the “wicked and sentimental” Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov and his three sons―the impulsive and sensual Dmitri; the coldly rational Ivan; and the healthy, red-cheeked young novice Alyosha. Through the gripping events of their story, Dostoevsky portrays the whole of Russian life, is social and spiritual striving, in what was both the golden age and a tragic turning point in Russian culture.

An animated series featuring characters from playing cards. Once upon a time, far, far away, there were two kingdoms. One was ruled by the good-natured King of Hearts, and the other by the evil King of Spades. The two neighbors lived in harmony until the King of Hearts defeated the King of Spades at chess. The latter, greatly angered, declared war on his neighbor. And so the fairy tales ended and the feuds began. King Hearts is a great lover of chess and hunting, while the cunning King Spades is constantly plotting to kidnap his daughter and take over the kingdom. Thanks to the clever and brave Jack, however, King Hearts always manages to save his domain.

Bleep and Booster

Bleep and Booster is a children's cartoon series by William Timym originally shown on the BBC's Blue Peter. 313 five minute episodes were released between 1963 and 1977. Bleep is an alien from the planet Miron/Myron with a spaceship, whilst Booster is a young human who travels with Bleep performing galactic missions for Bleep's moustached father. The planet Miron/Myron is portrayed as being built almost entirely out of chrome, with its capital at Miron/Myron City. The inhabitants are portrayed as robot-like creatures with flexible arms and legs like rubber hoses. Their feet are cupped and they have antennae and a third eye in the centre of their foreheads. Two episodes of the series, The Giant Brain and Solaron were released in 1993 on VHS exclusively in Great Britain. Thus far, there have been no other episodes released. The cartoons were animatic animation, still pictures which were slowly panned, with narration. The voices were by Peter Hawkins.

Untitled Concert

‘Untitled Concert’ (Japanese: 題名のない音楽会; Romanised: Daimei no nai Ongakukai) is a classical music programme that has been broadcast since August 1964. From its inception until March 1966, it was produced by the Television Division of the Japan Science and Technology Promotion Foundation (Tokyo 12 Channel, now TV Tokyo). Production then shifted to Nippon Educational Television (NET TV) and subsequently to TV Asahi from April 1966, and the programme continues to be broadcast as of 2020. It was also suspended from October 1968 to June 1969.
