Huo Yuanjia is a television series based on the life of the Chinese martial artist Huo Yuanjia. It includes a subplot on the story of Chen Zhen, a fictional student of Huo Yuanjia and the protagonist of the 1972 film Fist of Fury. The main cast features Roger Kwok, Jessica Hsuan, and Leila Tong from the original series and new cast including Bosco Wong, and Paul Chun. The indirect sequel takes place in the modern era instead of the ancient setting of its prequel.

Men Don't Cry is a TVB period comedy series broadcast in October 2007, to celebrate TVB's 40th Anniversary. The shown was rerun from Thursday, January 29, 2009 to February 26, 2009 from Monday to Friday at 12:05am on TVB Jade in Hong Kong. The Chinese title is a reference to Shi Jian, who had played as villains in many Wong Fei Hung movies featuring Kwan Tak Hing as Wong Fei Hung, and later in TVB's television series. Reversing the trends set by previous Wong Fei Hung stories, the title archvillain assumes the leading role of the series, with Wong Fei Hung as the supporting role.

The story sets at the end of Ming Dynasty, when the country is facing many problems, including lots of wars against the enemies who wants to take over the dynasty. There are two major parts to the main story, one involves with how the Emperor Song Jing facing the problems within the country, and the struggles around him. Pang Kam-Chau is left broke when his ex-girlfriend takes everything from him. Hearing a potential business opportunity with a local football team, he befriends the team coach and is given the title of operation director of the football team. Managing the team proves to be far more challenging than he expected when the players achieve poor grades at school. The football team sponsor wants to hire a famous cram school tutor, Kelly Yim Ka-Lai, to help players achieve higher results in the public examinations, but Kelly's teaching style is drastically different than Kam-Chau's and this results in comedic consequences.
