Home Again was a British television sitcom produced by the BBC and broadcast on BBC One in 2006. It starred Peter Egan, Samantha Janus, Bruce Mackinnon and Sinéad Cusack as two couples of different generations living in one house. The show lasted for one series only, during which six episodes were produced and broadcast. The theme song was Inbetween Days by The Cure.

The Conspiracy Files is a British documentary television series broadcast on BBC Two, investigating various modern day conspiracy theories. So far in two series and 6 programmes, the show has investigated the theories surrounding the September 11 attacks, the Pan Am Flight 103 bomb, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 7 July 2005 London bombings and the deaths of David Kelly and Diana, Princess of Wales.

Best of the Worst was a British panel game, which was broadcast on Channel 4 in 2006. The show was created by Giles Pilbrow and Colin Swash. Hosted by Alexander Armstrong, it featured two teams of two players, one captained by David Mitchell and the other by Johnny Vaughan. The other panellists were either comedians or well known television personalities. The show looked at the worst things ever to happen in the world, such as the person with the worst luck, the worst diet, or the worst inventions.

Terry Jones' Barbarians is a 4-part TV documentary series first broadcast on BBC 2 in 2006. It was written and presented by Terry Jones, and it challenges the received Roman and Roman Catholic notion of the barbarian. Ocean Odyssey is a two-part, two-hour television programme produced for the BBC by the production company Impossible Pictures. It follows the life of a bull Sperm whale from his first deep dive until his death, stranded on a beach. Unlike most Impossible Pictures productions, it uses CGI to recreate currently living rather than extinct creatures. Also, most of the backgrounds are CG as well.

Extreme Dreams is a reality TV programme made by the independent British production company Ricochet and hosted by Ben Fogle. The premise behind the show is that deserving individuals are taken to unfamiliar and extreme environments and given the opportunity to participate in an adventure beyond their wildest dreams. Participants are typically seeking a life-changing experience: a boost to improve their health, build their confidence, mend relationships or overcome past difficulties. For each programme four different teams are selected by a small panel comprising adventurers and a psychologist as well as Ben Fogle himself. Each team then travels with Ben to a different region of the world to undertake a challenging trek.

The Real Football Factories is a documentary series shown on the Bravo TV channel in the UK and created by Zig Zag Productions. The show looks at the in-depth life of football hooligans and hooligan firms. Interviews are conducted with past and present hooligans. The presenter of the show, Danny Dyer, also starred in the film The Football Factory. During the series Dyer visits Yorkshire, Scotland, The Midlands, North West England and London to meet up with and interview hooligans. On 25 May 2007 Bravo broadcast a new show, The Real Football Factories International, which looks at football firms worldwide. In September 2007 Virgin Media released a spoof version of the show starring comedian Terry Alderton as Danny Dire.

Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor is a British television sketch comedy show written and performed by BAFTA Award-winning comedian Karen Taylor and produced by Avalon Productions. The genre of the show focuses largely on sex and contains much innuendo. The title animation was created by Joanna Davidovich. According to Taylor's MySpace, the BBC have decided against creating another series. A German version of the series, called Ich Bin Boes, starring Mirja Boes, was produced by RTL in 2008

The contestants do not necessarily need to get the questions right in order to win, and can bluff their way through the game and pressure their opponents into folding in order to win.

Only Fools on Horses was a BBC reality television programme produced by Endemol UK. The show's name was a play on that of the sitcom Only Fools and Horses, and first aired on 7 July 2006. It featured twelve celebrities who performed equestrian events, with one celebrity being eliminated every day until only one was left. Proceeds went towards Sport Relief. It was presented by Angus Deayton and Kirsty Gallacher. After the final, it was announced that the event had raised over £250,000 for Sport Relief. The final, a jump off between Jenni and Nicki, was won by Jenni Falconer.

Just the Two of Us is a British television reality singing contest hosted by Vernon Kay and Tess Daly. The first series of the BBC show saw eight celebrities team up with professional singers and sing each night in duets, with one pair being eliminated every night. After each performance they were judged by a panel of industry experts. The basic format of the show was first used in another BBC programme, Strictly Come Dancing.

The Complete Guide to Parenting is an ITV comedy drama, starring Peter Davison as George Huntley, Professor of Child Psychology at London University, best-selling author of Hey Mum & Dad, Get Your Act Together and LBC resident parenting guru. He finds his so-called parenting expertise put to the test, when his wife Phoebe takes a job based in Paris. George has to hold the fort and look after his 7-year-old son Jamie, for the very first time, whilst juggling the rest of his busy life. Whilst scenes are filmed at UCL, which is one of the universities that make up the University of London, it is unclear whether this show's 'London University' is meant to be the University of London. The series was created and written by Paul Smith.

Princess Nikki is a reality television show that stars former Big Brother 7 UK house mate, Nikki Grahame. It ran on Wednesday nights between 10:00 - 10:30pm on the digital television channel E4 from 6 September 2006, for a total runtime of 30 minutes. The show was devised by Endemol, the company that also devised Big Brother. It was narrated by the presenter and comedian, Alex Zane. The format saw Nikki attempt several jobs on each show, which included various unpleasant tasks such as rubbish collecting, deep sea fishing, and waste management. The show's premise was to see whether or not Nikki would perform the tasks given to her and keep her job for a day, or whether she would quit or be sacked due to her infamous tantrums. The concept of the show was taken from one of the tasks Nikki undertook while in the Big Brother House. During the task, she was assigned as Big Brother's personal assistant and had to carry out various duties, which often resulted in Nikki throwing a tantrum and refusing to comply. The show was often compared to The Simple Life. The theme music for the programme has been adapted from the 1982 hit single Hey Mickey! by Toni Basil, with the lyrics "Hey Nikki!" used as a replacement.

Beauty and the Geek is a reality television show, first aired in the United Kingdom on E4 on February 7, 2006, following the success of the format in the United States, and was advertised similarly as "the Ultimate Social Experiment". The first series ended on 14 March, and was repeated on Channel 4 beginning on 31 March. There is no host per se, although voiceovers are provided by David Mitchell of Peep Show fame and the physical actions normally requiring a host are performed by a silent "butler" known as "Gates".

Bel's Boys is a 2006 TV series based on the band of the same name. It consists of 26 15-minute episodes first broadcast on CITV and is repeated on the CITV channel. Bel's Boys was made by Initial and was part funded by the NIFTC. The series was filmed entirely in Belfast making it the biggest drama series ever to be filmed in Northern Ireland.

The Big Idea is a gameshow that aired on Sky One in 2006. Hosted by Richard Bacon, the show aimed to find the country's best new business idea, with the public voting for the winner who would receive £100,000 to invest in their concept. Regional heats took place in Manchester and London, then in every episode three mentors introduced two of the products they backed from the regionals. Scrapheap Challenge's Dick Strawbridge would then apply some quirky product testing.

Never Mind the Full Stops is a British television panel game based on the English language, its idiosyncrasies, and its misuse. It is hosted by the British actor, author and Oscar-winning screenwriter, Julian Fellowes. Each episode lasts 30 minutes. The series was filmed in March 2006 at Channel 4's studios in Horseferry Road, Westminster. It was originally broadcast on BBC Four, and aired on BBC Two from 9 October 2006. Two teams of two people are faced with various questions and challenges concerning English grammar, spelling and usage. The show is divided into rounds, with themes such as identifying the famous author of a badly spoken sentence and correcting the punctuation in a written sentence. There is also a quick-fire round with questions such as "What is a malapropism?" Points are awarded throughout the show to determine the winning team. Each show starts with the host giving a 'difficult-to-spell' word and an example mnemonic to help remember that spelling, and by the end of the show the panellists have to have devised their own. In episode one Julian Fellowes gave the example arithmetic: A Rat In The House Might Eat The Ice Cream; and Ned Sherrin's version was: As Richard Interred The Head Master Every Tiny Infant Cheered. By the end of series 1, even Julian Fellowes had realized that these so-called mnemonics were invariably harder to remember than the spellings – particularly as they were rarely related to the words in question.
