Comedy Slapdown is an Australian television improvised comedy program produced by FremantleMedia, that first aired on The Comedy Channel from 8 November 2008 at 7:30pm. The show is hosted by H.G. Nelson and feaures a variety of comedians participating in theatresports Matt Parkinson heads up the judging panel which includes one other celebrity judge and one judge selected from the audience. Notable guest comedians include Corinne Grant, Tom Gleeson, Natalie Garonzi, Matt Tilley and Julia Zemiro. The premise of the show can be compared to the popular improvisational comedy program 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' with various improvisational comedy games played as the teams compete against each other.

Rain Shadow is an Australian television drama series which premiered on 7 October 2007 on ABC TV. It aired on Sundays at 8.30 pm. The six-part series was produced by Southern Star. Music from The Audreys features in the soundtrack for the show, including the main theme. Rain Shadow was shot in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia and is set in the fictional district of Paringa, a dry land farming area in a rain shadow. It tells the story of two characters who become the means of each other's future. It stars Rachel Ward as district vet Kate McDonald and Victoria Thaine as new veterinary assistant Jill Blake.

Backyard Science is an Australian educational children's television show based on the Dorling Kindersley books. In this series, children experiment with everyday items in order to make something fun and practical and also provide scientific insights in a child's world. The series was composed of more than 78 episodes. Jason Smith was a presenter for some time. It was broadcast in the USA under the title Crash! Bang! Splat! on the former Discovery Kids Channel.

Temptation was an Australian game show which premiered on the Nine Network on 30 May 2005. Hosted by Ed Phillips and Livinia Nixon, the show was a remake of Sale of the Century, which aired on Nine in the same timeslot for more than twenty years between 1980 and 2001. Temptation had the same general format of its predecessor, but with several new features and a de-emphasis on the "shopping" aspects of the endgame. Above the Law was an Australian crime/drama television series broadcast on Network Ten from February 2000 to August 2001. The drama showed the life for the residents of an apartment complex which features a police station on the ground floor. Thirty 1-hour episodes were shown, and five episodes remain unaired.

Ocean Star is an Australian children's television series that first screened on Network Ten on 10 February 2003 until 2003.

RAN is an Australian television program, filmed entirely on Masig Island in the tropical Torres Strait north of the Cape York Peninsula, the northernmost part of Australia, and the border with Papua New Guinea. This is an important series to Torres Strait Islanders, but also to the predominantly Anglo Australian community as it highlights the difference between Islanders and mainland Indigenous Australians and the interactions between Islander and Anglo culture. Crime Investigation Australia is an Australian true-crime series that first premiered on Foxtel's Crime & Investigation Network in August 2005. The series is also rebroadcast on the Nine Network, and made its debut there on 14 August 2007. The host of the series is Steve Liebmann.

It has been announced that 26 more episodes of As the Bell Rings to premiere in early 2009 for its second season. A third series of As the Bell Rings completed filming on 17 July, with new cast members to join the set on the new series. Season 4 currently airs on occasional Friday nights, with new character Mia.

Hosted by Andrew O'Keefe for its original run on Channel 7, now having been bought back by Channel 10 and hosted by TV Week Gold Logie award winner Grant Denyer, every episode of the show is a high-pressure, high-stakes game of risk versus reward in which contestants face a series of potentially life-altering decisions.

The Outdoor Room was an Australian television program, hosted by Jamie Durie, that aired on the Seven Network in late 2008. Repeats are currently broadcast on 7Two. In January 2009, it was announced that The Outdoor Room has got the axe and would not return due to budgetary constraints to produce each episode. Durie is currently filming an American version of the show.

Flipside was a sketch and mockumentary comedy series broadcast late Saturday nights on ABC TV (Australia) in 2002. "Extremely popular amongst Australian TV fans in particular and comedy devotees in particular, Flipside offered a potpourri of zany sketches, music, monologues, and mockumentaries. The talented ensemble cast served up a bizarro world in which the normal was abnormal and vice versa. Football Superstar was an Australian reality television series that aired on FOX8. It was hosted by Lee Furlong and Brian McFadden, with Kris Smith replacing McFadden in the third season. The show aimed to find a new football star from male contestants aged 16 to 21. In its three seasons, the winners were Adam Hett, Luke Pilkington and Liam McCormick.

Stupid, Stupid Man is an Australian television comedy which originally aired on TV1. It is set in the office of a fictional men's magazine COQ, parodying such men's magazines as FHM and Ralph. The first season began broadcasting on 14 November 2006, and a second season began on 11 December 2007. On 29 January 2008, the final episode of the show aired, and it was cancelled.

skitHOUSE was an Australian sketch comedy television series that ran on Network Ten from 9 February 2003 to 28 July 2004. The series was produced by Roving Enterprises. It featured many well-known Australian comedians, including comedy-band Tripod. Reruns can now be seen on The Comedy Channel on Foxtel. In the UK, it is shown on the channel Paramount Comedy 2 and Trouble. The title name itself is a pun on the colloquial word: "shithouse". The series only ran for two seasons, before being cancelled due to a combination of dwindling ratings and the withdrawal of the cable network Foxtel as co-financier of the program's production.

Double Trouble is an Australian children's television series on the Nine Network. It was produced by the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association. Double Trouble was the remake of the 1984 American series starring former twin actresses Jean and Liz Sagal

Surf Patrol, Australia's Lifesavers is an Australian reality television series that airs on the Seven Network. The series is produced by the Australian production company Cornerbox, the producers of Seven's other factual series The Force and Border Security. The first season was presented by Simon Westaway, with Naomi Robson taking over for season two, and Tom Williams for series three. The show premiered on 9 July 2007. The second season started airing from 12 May 2008, with a third aired from 14 July 2009.

Short Cuts was an Australian children's television series that first screened on the Seven Network in 2001. The 26-episode series was aimed at teenagers. It was financed by the Australian Film Finance Corporation and Burberry Productions. The series was subsequently repeated on the youth-oriented network ABC3 in March and April 2011.

Kick is an Australian television series that was first broadcast on 9 June 2007 on SBS TV. It is set in Brunswick in Melbourne, Australia. The series follows the adventures of wild twenty-something Miki Mavros who is forced to move back in with her Greek-Australian parents on Hope Street after a failed attempt to "make it big". Miki begins work as a secretary for suave Anglo-Indian Dr. Joe Mangeshkar, who has a girlfriend named Jan, and things spiral out of control. Miki manages a local neighbourhood soccer team, hence the series title Kick. The show also follows the adventures of Miki's neighbours on Hope Street, including the Salim family, a Lebanese-Australian Muslim family with siblings Amen, Osama "Ozzie", Taghred and Layla. Amen is an aspiring businessman with questionable ethics. Osama is going through typical teenage angst and has a crush on Taghred's friend Tatiana. Taghred is an aspiring soccer star. Layla is a university student arranged to be married to Sharif, but everything changes when Layla falls for fellow fencer Jackie. The first season of the show is available on DVD.

Newstopia is an Australian half-hour satirical comedy programme hosted by Shaun Micallef. The first series premiered at 10:00 pm on SBS TV on 10 October 2007 and concluded on 3 December 2007. A second season began on 27 February 2008 and concluded on 30 April 2008. A third season of the show screened from 1 October to 3 December 2008. The show was developed by Micallef, Gary McCaffrie, Michael Ward and Jason Stephens, with McCaffrie and Ward working as writers on the programme. A fourth series in 2009 was planned, but cancelled due to production clashes with Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation. The show's contributors include Matt Cameron, Doug MacLeod, Dave O'Neil, Tony Moclair and Richard Marsland.

Project Runway Australia is a reality television show based on the American program Project Runway, wherein fashion designers residing in Australia compete by making specific garments for weekly challenges. The show features Megan Gale as the host, and Peter Morrissey and Claudia Navone as judges. Alex Perry acts as a mentor to the contestants, as Tim Gunn does in the American version. Production began in May 2008, and the show premiered on Arena 8.30 p.m. Monday 7 July 2008. The prizes for the winner of Project Runway Australia included what is described as "$100,000 opportunity" to create their own fashion line to show in Melbourne Fashion Week, a new car, the model of which changes throughout the seasons, and having their clothes displayed in a six-page spread in Madison magazine.

Inside Australia is a weekly documentary series, produced and broadcast by the Special Broadcasting Service. It premiered at 7:00 pm on Sunday 12 October 2003.

A fourth season began with a special one hour episode, Miracle At The Zoo on the birth of elephant Pathi Harn on 12 April 2010.

Outback House was an Australian historical reality TV series that originally aired on ABC TV in 2005. The series was based on several series produced by Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and PBS in the United States, in which the concept was to have a modern day family living in a facsimile of an historical dwelling with their staff, making do with only the technology and materials of the time. Outback House was set in 1861 Outback Australia, on a sheep station called Oxley Downs in New South Wales.

First Australians is an Australian historical documentary series produced by Blackfella Films over the course of six years, and first aired in October 2008. The documentary is part of a greater project that further consists of a hard-cover book, a community outreach program and a substantial website featuring over 200 mini-documentaries. The series chronicles the history of contemporary Australia, from the perspective of its first people, or Aborigines. The series is essentially a synthesis of well documented historical information. It relies heavily on archival documents and interpretations from historians and members of both the Indigenous and European community and leaders. The story begins in 1788 in Sydney, with the arrival of the First Fleet and ends in 1993 with Koiki Mabo's legal challenge to the foundation of Australia. The series comprises seven episodes in which it explores what unfolded when the oldest living culture in the world was confronted by the British Empire. It explores the lives of particular individuals and uses their stories as a vehicle to explain the larger situations of the time. It explains violent aspects of European settlement of Australia, such as killings, battles, wars, as well as acts of friendship and decency between the early European settlers and Indigenous Australians. Indigenous Australian history has until recently been clouded by the "great Australian silence" where ignorance of the real history of Australia can be seen as a way for non-Indigenous to hide shame for their own history. In this respect it has been controversial in that many of these stories have not been portrayed on Australian television before and the Indigenous Australian perspective of European settlement is confrontational for many.

Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice was an Australian reality television series which was based on the original British version, Dancing on Ice. The series premiered on the Nine Network on Tuesday, 11 July 2006 at 7:30 pm, and involved celebrities ice dancing on a specially constructed ice rink located in Sydney's north-west suburbs. The series ran for one season before being axed, and the winner of the competition was model Jake Wall. The series reportedly cost several million dollars to produce, but only regularly managed above-average ratings at best. A reunion special which would feature all ten celebrities talking about their experiences on the show, and answering questions from a live studio audience, as well as Torvill and Dean themselves making a very special guest appearance in the studio congratulating the contestants, hosts and indeed, home viewers for voting, had been planned, but that too was cancelled following the show's axing.

Do It is an Australian weekly half hour lifestyle television program broadcast on the Nine Network. Premiering at 8:00 am on Sunday 5 November 2006, it is currently broadcast on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm. The program is hosted by Luke van Dyck, a third generation builder who has previously appeared on other lifestyle programs such Renovation Rescue and DIY Rescue. The program covers a whole range of home improvement projects where each step is outlined so that viewers can carry out the task themselves around their own home. The program is supported by their website where detailed guides for each project are available.

The Circuit is an Australian television drama series. The six part first season screened on SBS TV, premiering on 8 July 2007 at 9:30 pm, and concluding on 12 August 2007. Season 2 began airing on 1 December 2009. The series stars Aaron Pedersen and Gary Sweet and centres on mixed-race solicitor Drew Ellis who joins the district to work at the Kimberley Circuit Court. Filmed mainly in Broome, Western Australia and surrounding areas, the show had a budget of more than $4 million, and 1,000 local Aboriginal extras have been employed for the production.

Air Ways is an Australian factual television series broadcast on the Seven Network, narrated by Corinne Grant and produced by Lyndal Marks, the executive producer in charge of Border Security. It began screening in July 2009 and was filmed in airports including Melbourne, Coolangatta, Rockhampton, Mackay, Adelaide, Launceston, Hobart and Alice Springs. Air Ways follows the day-to-day operations of budget Australian airline Tiger Airways Australia. It has a similar premise to the successful UK factual television series Airline. Air Ways returned for a second series on Sunday, 7 February 2010.

First Tuesday Book Club is an Australian television show that discusses books ostensibly in the style of a domestic book club. Hosted by journalist Jennifer Byrne, it uses the panel format made popular in The Glass House with two regular members–book reviewer Jason Steger and author/blogger Marieke Hardy – and two guest members. The show first aired on the ABC on 1 August 2006 and is scheduled as a monthly program.

Larry the Lawnmower is an Australian pre-schoolers program that airs on Seven Network in Australia, created by Tim Faircloth and is produced by Ambience Entertainment The series follows Larry the Lawnmower and his four friends Wheelie the Wheelbarrow, Rosie the Rake, Tangles the Hose and Flash the Spade and their adventures in the backyard. The program is narrated and all the characters are voiced by Jay Laga'aia. The program premiered on 9 December 2008 at 11:00am. A second series began on 16 February 2009. On 21 May 2009 it was announced due to popular demand the series would be repeated.
