It follows two Canadian hosts, Calum MacLeod and Mark McGuckin playing their way across Canada in a 13 game grudge match series of Road Hockey. From British Columbia to Newfoundland and all of the territories, they tap into the rivalries, legends and grit of Canada’s most colourful and competitive towns. Friends in life but rivals in hockey, each host drafts their own team of locals to battle it out on the court. A number of past and present NHL hockey players have made appearances or been showcased in the series including Jordin Tootoo, Jason King, Wade Redden, Eric Staal, David Ling, Duane Sutter, Éric Bélanger, Terry Ryan, Tyler Arnason and Eric Chouinard. Tycoon

Tycoon was an ITV reality television show, based on the existing Peter Jones/Simon Cowell production American Inventor, which began on 19 June 2007 at 9.00pm. It was fronted by Peter Jones, who searched for entrepreneurs with ideas that he helped turn into profit-making companies. The winner was chosen by the public. The entrepreneurs were competing for support from Peter Jones and the other companies' profits. The series also included a viewers' competition in which 25% of the winning company's shares were divided between 2,000 viewers. After two weeks Tycoon was pulled from its slot at 9pm on Tuesday night due to disappointing ratings. After missing a week, the series returned on Monday 9 July at 10pm, cut from one hour to 30 minutes and reduced from six episodes to five. The final of Tycoon took place on Monday 23 July on ITV, with Kate Thornton as host. Iain Morgan was announced the winner of the series.

Are You Smarter Than a Canadian 5th Grader? is a Canadian-English television game show, which began airing on October 25, 2007 on Global. The show, based on the U.S. game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, was hosted by Canadian comedian Colin Mochrie. Five episodes were produced, and aired Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET. Contestants included a lawyer, a professor, a nuclear engineer amongst others. A veterinarian, Andrew Oster, from Midland, Ontario was the show's biggest winner garnering $300,000, tax-free; his prize was the highest sum in Canadian game show history. The show, which was filmed at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto, Ontario, challenged contestants to prove that they are smarter than a Canadian fifth grader by answering a series of questions on material from elementary school textbooks. In addition to the subjects present in the American edition, the game included Canadian-specific content, such as questions about the French language, Canadian history, geography and culture. The set for the show was similar to the American version, but themed for Canada; for instance, the floor contained a large map of the country. The class for the show was made up of seven Grade 5 students: Katherine, age 10, from Halifax, Nova Scotia; Nathan, 10, from Calgary, Alberta; Michael, 9, from Vancouver, British Columbia; Isiah, 10, from Mississauga, Ontario; Taylor, 10, from Toronto, Ontario; Jacob, 9, from Bedford, Nova Scotia; and Rachel, 9, from Lockport, Manitoba.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a children's television programme that aired on BBC One. It was hosted by Barney Harwood, and saw 14 lucky scholars picked from auditions taking place across the UK. The successful applicants were then taken to magic school, where they were given 18 days of training by professional magicians. The programme ran for 21 episodes in July 2007. It was broadcast to co-ordinate with the release of the final Harry Potter book, and the fifth film. The Sorcerer was Max Somerset, and the two teachers were Sophie Evans and Tariq Knight. David Penn was a regular on The Sorcerer's Apprentice Extra, a follow-up programme broadcast the following day on BBC Two. He also starred in the second series. Series 2, which had a completely new look and followed 12 new children, started filming in August 2008 and began broadcasting on 25 January 2009 on BBC Two. Max Somerset returned as the Sorcerer along with the magic teachers Tariq Knight aka Mr Knight and Sophie Evans aka Miss Evans. Ortis Deley hosted for this 10 part series. Series 3 also finished filming in 2008. Series 3 finished filming in 2008 but has never been aired. The show has not been axed eithier so there is a possibility series 3 will be aired. However it is assumed that there will no longer be another series as the last broadcast of the second series was in 2008.

Street Doctor is a prime-time health series which was first shown in January 2007 on BBC One television. The format involves four GPs who take to the streets to diagnose, advise and treat people wherever they might be—at work or out and about. Locations have included high streets, ferries, restaurants, factories, markets, theatres, sports grounds, the Great North Run, race courses and the ballet. The four GPs who appear in the show are Dr Ayan Panja, Dr Jonty Heaversedge, Dr Barbara Murray, and BMA council member Dr George Rae. They are all full-time GPs practising in the United Kingdom. The second series visited Nottingham, the Isle of Man, Manchester, London, Bristol, Bangor, Edinburgh and York, using locations such as Covent Garden and the Royal Exchange Theatre. A spin-off from the show called Beach Doctor was also commissioned and was shown as part of BBC One's The One Show in August 2007. Street Doctor had originally been made as a pilot and was commissioned independently of The One Show despite being promoted on it in 2006. Many elements of Street Doctor 's format have been emulated by various strands and shows on both the BBC and other channels. The show has been estimated to attract around 4 million viewers and was re-commissioned for 2008. The third series started on Wednesday 2 April 2008 in Chester, the 9 April 2008 episode was in Sheffield, and on 16 April 2008 the doctors visited Oxford.

Hatara Kids Maihamu Gumi, literally "Working Kids, Meister Hamster Team", is a Japanese anime action series for young children about hamsters who hold down jobs from firefighting to cooking. The show is produced by Toei Animation and was broadcast at 6:30-7:00 am on Sunday every week from October 7, 2007 to September 28, 2008 on Japan’s TV Asahi. The show was also broadcast at 6:00 - 6:30 pm on Friday every week from November 2, 2007 on BS Asahi, but it is now broadcast at 5:00 - 5:30 pm on Friday every week from October 10, 2008. Bandai will be the master toy license to the anime series in Japan, along with other Toei Animation anime.

The Real Estate Pros

The Real Estate Pros is a television series which airs on the TLC network. Each episode stars Richard C. Davis and his crew from Trademark Properties of Charleston, South Carolina as they purchase and renovate a piece of real estate. Most episodes include the listing price of the purchased property, estimated cost of the renovation, and the market value of the "flipped" property; however, one episode showed Davis renovating a quadplex owned by his company, in order to justify increased rents. The series premiered on April 21, 2007 titled The Real Deal. The first episode of The Real Deal was "A Home Run For Trademark", a special centering around the relocation of the Shoeless Joe house, while at the same time helping to renovate the life of a current Major League Baseball player, Josh Hamilton. In June 2007, The Real Deal was renamed The Real Estate Pros. At a recent fundraiser event in Charleston, Richard C. Davis, who heads Team Trademark, said he "intends to document the lodge’s rehabilitation as part of the real estate company’s reality series, due to air on TLC in April". The show had a five year hiatus.

News Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald, more commonly referred to as simply News Knight was a British television panel show shown on ITV, at 22:00 on Sunday nights. Fronted by Sir Trevor McDonald and in a similar style to the BBC One programme Have I Got News for You, its format featured three comedians and McDonald satirising the week's news. Marcus Brigstocke was a permanent member of the "news team". News Knight is produced by Hat Trick Productions, the same production company as Have I Got News For You. The programme's title is a pun on McDonald's knighthood and on the BBC Two current affairs programme Newsnight. The show is therefore referred to as "News Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald" to avoid confusion.

Difference of Opinion is an Australian television program that was produced and broadcast by ABC1. It began at the start of 2007, hosted by ex-60 Minutes journalist Jeff McMullen. It is a debating program. Season 1 began on Monday 12 February 2007 and ran from 9:25 pm to 10:30 pm until Monday 7 May 2007. After a nine-week break, the program returned for its second season on Thursday 19 July 2007 running from 9:25 pm to 10:20 pm. In 2008, the program was in some ways replaced by the similar ABC1 program Q&A.

Soupy Norman was an eight-part Irish television programme broadcast by RTÉ. It was aired weekly on Thursday nights at 23:05 on the RTÉ Two channel, in ten-minute segments. The series ran from 24 May to 24 July 2007 . The show is a comedic re-dubbing of the Polish soap opera Pierwsza miłość, which has been running on Polsat television since 2004. The series is written and edited by Barry Murphy and Mark Doherty, with additional voices provided by Tara Flynn, Sue Collins, Luke Murphy and Mario Rosenstock. Where the original soap opera dealt with a girl leaving her family behind to go to college, the re-dubbed version of the programme explores the culture shock of a dysfunctional Cork family in Dublin. The series' surreal humour led to a cult following, with its episodes being popular on YouTube. A special episode entitled "The Late Late Soupy Norman Tribute" which featured dubbed clips from RTÉ's The Late Late Show as well as clips from previous episodes of Soupy Norman as well as including a new scene of the show. This was broadcast on Christmas Eve 2007.. A pilot sketch for the series initially aired on Armando Iannucci’s show Time Trumpet on BBC 2.
