Directors Commentary

Directors Commentary was a comedy television series created and written by Paul Duddridge and produced by Miles Ross. It was made by Jones The Film for ITV and broadcast in 2004. It starred Rob Brydon as Peter de Lane, a fictional director who provided the audio commentary for the DVD releases of shows he had supposedly directed. These commentaries not only provided information on the programmes but also gave a glimpse into de Lane's life. It ran for 7 episodes, which have all been released on DVD. It used stock footage of real television programmes, such as Bonanza, Only When I Laugh and Flambards, and de Lane did not appear in person on screen.

Takaya was sent to Kyoto to investigate the re-awakening of Ikko sect and Araki Murashige, a member of the Ikko sect who deserted the clan.With the help of his vassal Haruie, Takaya is finally successful in tracing Araki who hunts down a 400-years-old mandala (Buddhist artifact for meditating) that was made of the hair of the deceased Araki clansmen. Unfortunately, by the time they meet, Haruie recognizes Araki as Shintarou, her lover in her past-life. Takaya orders her to eliminate Araki, who is a threat, but will she be able to do it. Furthermore Takaya finally meets Naoe.

A luxury tour is organised with the selling point that popular travel journalist Nagiko Eki (Yoko Shimada) will be accompanying the group as a guide, but Eki herself cancels at the last minute. On the condition that Eki herself joins the group on the final day of the tour, her assistant, Etsuko Hijikata (Chikako Kaku), steps in to act as the tour guide. However, Etsuko and the tour escort, Ryohei Kadota (Eiichiro Funakoshi), find themselves at their wits’ end dealing with the endless whims of the seven celebrity middle-aged women on the tour. Amidst this constant turmoil, a series of deaths among the tour participants occurs, first in the South of France and then in Granada, Spain.

Video Mods was a television series that aired on MTV2. This show turned video game characters into musicians. It was created by Tony Shiff of Big Bear Entertainment in 2003. A pilot aired in Dec 2003, having been underwritten by Electronic Arts. It was a form of branded entertainment, as the pilot featured characters from their games SSX3, Sims, and Need for Speed. In 2004 MTV2 Head of Programming Alex Coletti commissioned four new episodes which aired that Fall. The pilot and all 2004 episodes were produced and directed by Shiff, with Animation Director Kris Renkewitz. In 2005, additional episodes were animated by IBC Digital. Although fans wished to see the videos on DVD, MTV never cleared the music rights for any purposes beyond their television airings. Many of the videos however, are available to see on YouTube.
