Mission Backup Earth is a science fiction web series set in the 22nd century and deals with the human struggle to survive a cosmic catastrophe. The series follows the adventures of the survivors of mankind in their efforts to colonize a habitable exoplanet, where they will install the "human backup".

30 Germans have taken up permanent residence at Villa Germania in Pattaya, Thailand. In the 11-storey residential complex, apartments are sold and rented exclusively to German-speaking expats. The eight-part docu-soap introduces two of the very different residents: Horst and Ingo lead a life here, often together with their wives, somewhere between structure and madness. Horst has been managing the residential complex for several years and rents out apartments to pensioners, long-term vacationers and dropouts. But he also immerses himself in Pattaya's notorious nightlife with his best buddy Ingo - and the camera is always there.
