Naor's Friends

Naor's Friends is an Israeli television sitcom created by Naor Zion for the Israeli Channel 10. The series premiered on November 14, 2006 and series 3 started airing on April 5, 2011. The Israeli comedian Naor Zion completely wrote and directed the series and also stars in the series as a fictionalized version of himself. The series which is set in Tel Aviv revolves around Naor's eccentric friends and acquaintances, including Weisman, Dedi, Mika and Omri The series focuses on four single friends in their thirties, who live in the center of Tel Aviv - Naor, Weisman, Dedi, Mika, Omri. Dafi is introduced in the third series as the closest female friend to the main male cast after Tamar Keinan quit her role as Mika. The opening theme song of the series, "לא נרדמת תל אביב" was written, composed Danny Robas, and is performed in the series by Adi Cohen.

The Adventures of Chico and Guapo is a show that originally aired on MTV2's Sic 'Em Fridays, but is now aired on MTV Overdrive. Set in New York City, the show is about two interns trying to get ahead in the music business. Chico and Guapo work at Mr. Angelo's recording studio. The series follows their misadventures, and also features Chico and Guapo's commentary on real TV shows while channel surfing in Mr. Angelo's office. Shorts of the cartoon originally aired on The Orlando Jones show on the FX network prior to becoming a regular series.

And receiving his letters and gifts was the greatest happiness she knew then. Hence it's no surprise that she maintains her long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Caleb (Pierre Png) through snail mail. Which explains her frequent visit to the post office. The very place where she crossed paths with destiny - freelance interior designer Zhang Shao Qi (Roy Chiu). Caleb finally returns home. But Qiao Shan's rashness stirs up much unhappiness between them and leads to a break up. Although already besotted with Qiao Shan, Shao Qi encourages her to go back to Caleb as her heart is still with him. Caleb re-accepts Qiao Shan. Yet an unexplainable sense of loss overcomes her as she returns to his side.

The World Series of Pop Culture

The World Series of Pop Culture was a VH1 game show tournament program sponsored by Alltel Wireless, based on Entertainment Weekly's Pop Culture Quiz. Sixteen teams, comprising three people each, compete to determine which team, collectively, knows the most about elements of popular culture. One of the teams each season was made up of three qualifiers selected on the basis of a test over the internet; the three internet qualifiers had no other connection to each other. Tapings for the first season took place in New York City from April 29 - April 30, 2006 at the Ziegfeld Theater. A wide range of topics are covered such as movies, music, TV and other miscellaneous pop culture. The top prize was $250,000. The show began on July 10, 2006, and the finale aired on Thursday, August 3, 2006. The hosts were Pat Kiernan and Lisa Guerrero. The second season of the show premiered on July 9, 2007. Auditions for the second season were held in January and February, and the tapings took place on March 22 and 23 at the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center. There were two online qualification tests that season which took place on February 14 and February 20. Kiernan returned as host, with season 1 competitors "Cheetara" replacing Guerrero as backstage interviewers.

Master of Champions

Master of Champions is a show which began airing June 22, 2006 on ABC. The show format was based on a Nippon Television original series entitled World Records. The show was reformatted and produced in the United States by Y27 Entertainment for ABC. The show was hosted by Chris Leary and the co-host was ex-Playboy Playmate Lisa Dergan. The panel of Champions was made of up of baseball legend Steve Garvey, Olympic Gold Medalist for ice skating Oksana Baiul, and Olympic Gold Medalist for skiing Jonny Moseley. Each week the six contestants compete in unusual skills two at a time. If they compete in the same skill, the one that performed the best is the winner; if they have different skills, the studio audience decides the winner. At the end of the show, the three celebrity judges decide which of the three winners is given the title of Master of Champions and a trophy that is added to the "Wall of Masters". The show was cancelled on July 20, 2006.

The story of Zhang Xiao Yue and Luo Can Yang, who end up in the same prison cell and reminisce in boredom. When Zhang Xiao Yue's father passed away, her family lost their only means of livelihood, unable to pay off their debts. Around the same time, Luo Can Yang's father is holding a banquet to celebrate his promotion, and Xiao Yue and her mother are hired as helpers by the Luo family. A series of complex relationships and conflicts unfold as a result, all seeming to revolve around Xiao Yue, her mother, and Can Yang. Both women struggle to stay true to themselves or find some small pieces of personal happiness in a society that considers them tools for men to use rather than as human beings.

Francesco's Italy: Top to Toe was a four-part BBC television series hosted by Francesco da Mosto and originally shown on BBC2 from 18 June to 2 July 2006. In the series, da Mosto drives his Alfa Romeo Spider the length of Italy, from North to South, exploring the architecture and traditions in different regions. This series was rebroadcast by The Travel Channel in January 2007 and repeated on BBC2 in May 2007 and BBC Four in October-November 2007. The series was rebroadcast in Canada on the Knowledge channel during July and August 2011. During Episode 1, "The Romantic North", da Mosto left his native Venice and his family, and visited the Fiat Factory in Turin, Romeo and Juliet's balcony in Verona and the city of Milan. During Episode 2, "The Garden of Italy", da Mosto visited a 19th century reproduction of Michaelangelo's David in Florence, the city of Siena and the town of Assisi. In Episode 3, entitled "The Heart of Italy" da Mosto visited the Trevi Fountain, explores Italians love/hate relationship with Mussolini, visiting the city of Sabaudia, Rome and Naples, its underground secrets and the beautiful Chapel of St. Severo. In the fourth episode, "The Land of My Mother", da Mosto travelled to Sicily where he climbed to the summit of Mount Etna, visited the Trulli buildings and explored the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo with its array of mummified bodies – before being reunited with his family at last.

An Aussie Goes Barmy

An Aussie Goes Barmy was an Australian reality television series which aired on the pay TV channel FOX8 in 2006. The series featured Australian cricket fan Gus Worland infiltrating the Barmy Army, an organised group of supporters of the England cricket team. The series was narrated by Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, who had been "best mates" with Worland since they attended the same kindergarten in Australia. The production company owned by Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, Seed Productions, devised and produced the series with Granada Productions and Foxtel. The premise of the series was that Worland, who had lived in England for twenty years and had an English wife, must follow the Barmy Army as they travel from the UK to Australia for the 2006-07 Ashes series. Jackman makes a bet with his friend—if England wins the Test series, Worland must join the Barmy Army permanently and become an England supporter. An Aussie Goes Barmy was followed by a sequel, An Aussie Goes Bolly, in 2007, which featured Worland travelling through India during a tour by the Australian cricket team.
