The City is an American reality television series that originally aired on MTV from December 29, 2008 until July 13, 2010. Developed as the spin-off of The Hills, the series aired two seasons and focused on the personal and professional lives of several young women residing in New York City, New York. The series originally focused on Whitney Port, who appeared in its predecessor, as she began employment with Diane von Fürstenberg. It additionally placed emphasis on her workplace rival Olivia Palermo, Port's boyfriend Jay Lyon, his roommate Adam Senn, and her friend Erin Lucas. Lost Tapes is an American television horror series that aired on Animal Planet. Produced by Go Go Luckey Entertainment, the program presents found footage depicting traumatic encounters with cryptozoological creatures, including the Chupacabra and Bigfoot, and even supernatural creatures such as the Werewolf and Vampire, and extraterrestrials: Alien and Reptilian. The pilot aired on Animal Planet October 30, 2008 for Halloween, but the series officially premiered on January 6, 2009. Animal Planet commissioned a second season, which premiered on September 29, 2009. Season 3 premiered on September 28, 2010, with episodes featuring zombies and the Kraken. The show also used to air on Planet Green.

The Ex List is an American comedy-drama television series based on the Israeli series The Mythological X created and written by Sigal Avin. The Americanized version, developed by Diane Ruggiero and produced by Fox Television Studios, premiered on CBS on October 3, 2008. Avin and Ruggiero acted as executive producers with Jonathan Levin, Avi Nir, and Mosh Danon. The series aired on Global in Canada and on Canal Fox on Latin America. Easy Money is a comedy-drama television series that aired on The CW from October 5, 2008 to August 16, 2009. The series was created by Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider. The show—along with Valentine, Surviving Suburbia, and In Harm's Way—are shows programmed by Media Rights Capital, an independent producer of television programming. The Sunday night block was sold to the producers on a leased-time basis from The CW after the network had no ratings success with the night. Production of the series was put on hold in mid-October and was expected to resume within four to six weeks. Two weeks later, MRC decided to cancel both Easy Money and Valentine. On November 20, 2008, The CW announced that it was ending its Sunday Night agreement with MRC, removing the current shows and programming the night itself. On July 6, 2009, The CW announced that beginning July 26, the series would begin burning off the remaining episodes Sundays at 7 p.m.

Paula's Best Dishes is a cooking show hosted by Paula Deen on Food Network On June 21, 2013, the Food Network announced that they would not renew Deen's contract due to controversy surrounding Deen's use of a racial slur and racist jokes in her restaurant, effectively cancelling the series.

Legally Blonde — The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods is an MTV program created in order to cast an actress to replace Laura Bell Bundy in the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde – The Musical. The show debuted on June 2, 2008. The winner of the show, Bailey Hanks, in addition to being cast in the role, was given the opportunity to record her own single of the musical's first-act closer, "So Much Better". The show concluded on July 21, 2008. Autumn Hurlbert was the runner up. She served as Hanks' understudy and performed in the ensemble of the show. Bundy's last performance in the musical was on July 20, 2008. Hanks began performances on July 23, 2008 and remained with the show until it closed on October 19, 2008. Two other show finalists — Rhiannon Hansen and Lauren Zakrin, performed in the Legally Blonde National tour. Hansen played Margot in the musical and Zakrin performed in the ensemble as well serving as understudy to Becky Gulsvig as Elle Woods. The show began with 15 contestants. All except the winner were eliminated over nine episodes, in which they performed songs and faced other challenges. A three-judge panel made the elimination decisions. Most episodes involved a small prize for the winner of the challenge.

Whale Wars is a weekly American documentary-style reality television series that premiered on November 7, 2008 on the Animal Planet cable channel. The program follows Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, as he and the crew aboard their various vessels harass Japanese whalers off the coast of Antarctica. On January 5, 2013, Animal Planet renewed the series for a sixth season.

After the First 48 is an American documentary television series on A&E. It is the companion series to The First 48. While the original series deals with the steps taken to discover, locate, and apprehend the person or persons involved in a homicide, After the First 48 continues by shedding light on the judicial aspects of the case including the verdict and sentencing from the trial along with behind the scenes interviews with detectives, prosecutors, defense attorneys and family members of the victim.

Destroyed in Seconds is a half-hour American television series that airs on Discovery Channel. Hosted by Ron Pitts, it features video segments of various things being destroyed fairly quickly such as planes crashing, explosions, sinkholes, boats crashing, fires, race car incidents, floods, etc. The nature of the show closely resembles Real TV. The show uses real video of real events, and commentary explaining the destruction portrayed. Most videos have stock sound effects added. Some of the events seen resulted in fatalities, and all of the events have property damage. It is currently on hiatus.

FCW is a professional wrestling television program for Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory. It debuted on October 5, 2008 on Bright House Sports Network in Tampa Bay and Central Florida and ran for close to four years until it aired its final episode on July 15, 2012.

Easy to Assemble is a Webseries created by and starring Illeana Douglas, and sponsored by furniture store IKEA. Douglas plays a fictional version of herself trying to quit acting and work a "real job" at the IKEA in Burbank, CA. She soon finds she cannot leave Hollywood behind when fellow actress Justine Bateman starts an internet talk show called "40 and Bitter" on the floor of IKEA. The series has had several notable guest stars, including Jeff Goldblum, Keanu Reeves, Jane Lynch, Justine Bateman, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Tom Arnold, Ed Begley, Jr., Kevin Pollak, Fred Willard, Daryl Sabara, Ricki Lake, David Henrie, Patricia Heaton, and Eric Lange.

Scream Queens is an American reality series on VH1 produced by Joke Productions and Lionsgate Television that premiered in October 2008. The show chronicles a group of unknown actresses competing for a role in the Saw franchise. Tanedra Howard won the first season and gained a role in Saw VI. The second season began airing on August 2, 2010 and the winner, Gabby West, won a role in Saw 3D.

Speed Racer: The Next Generation is an American animated television series based on the classic Japanese Speed Racer franchise, in which the internal events take place decades after those in the 1967 Japanese series. It is the fourth television adaptation of the franchise, and is executive produced by Lions Gate Entertainment, Larry Schwarz, and Ken Katsumoto. It is the first Nicktoon not to be based on an original property. Animation Collective produced the series, while the Flash character animation was handled by the now-defunct Collideascope Studios as their very last project. The last episode of Season 1 features the voice of NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon, who plays Turbo McCalister. This series was partly made to promote the live-action film, and the pilot movie premiered on Nicktoons Network on May 2, 2008, a week before the feature film adaptation was released in theatres. However, both projects were produced independently from one another and featured different generations of "Speed Racers", though both featured a Mach 6. Five three-part specials aired on Nickelodeon from March 14, 2009 to April 11, 2009. A second season began airing on March 24, 2011. The animation, layout, and 3D effects were outsourced to Toonz Entertainment in India for this season. After his death, Peter Fernandez's roles were replaced by Greg Abbey.

Sordid Lives: The Series is an American television series created, written, and directed by Del Shores and acts as a prequel to 2000 film Sordid Lives, also by Shores, self-described as a "Black comedy about white trash". The show is set in small town Texas and centers around the Ingram family. It stars Rue McClanahan, Olivia Newton-John, Caroline Rhea, Leslie Jordan, Beth Grant and most of the original cast of the film. It premiered on Logo in July 2008. In Canada, Sordid Lives the uncut version can be seen on Super Channel and the censored version on Out TV. According to Logo's contact page a second season will not be produced due to a lack of funding, and the Logo online web page for the series is no longer available. The series premiered in the UK on Film24 in August 2009.

My Alibi is a web television series produced by Take180. The series, consisting of 19 episodes of 180 seconds or under was one of the first series produced by the site, and one of the most well received. The show, like many on the site, took fan submissions and integrated them into each episode. The show was picked up for distribution on Abcfamily.com in February 2009. The series premiered on August 18, 2008, on Take180.com and YouTube, and concluded on February 20, 2009 with each episode averaging around 25,000 views on Take180.com.

Valentine is a romantic comedy/drama television series that aired on The CW and City in Canada from October 5, 2008 to July 19, 2009. The series was created by Kevin Murphy, who also serves as executive producer alongside Courtney Conte. The show was produced by Media Rights Capital and aired on Sundays at 8:00pm. On November 20, 2008, CW pulled Valentine along with Easy Money. However, the series returned on Sunday, June 28, 2009 to begin burning off the remaining unaired episodes. The show's only season averaged 0.72 million viewers and 0.2 demo in Adults 18-49.

I Love the New Millennium, the latest entry into the I Love the... series, is a nostalgia show focusing on the 2000s and premiered on VH1 Monday, June 23, 2008. Each night, from Monday to Thursday, two of the eight episodes premiered, corresponding to the years from 2000 to 2007. As the series aired in 2008, it did not include episodes for the years 2008 or 2009. Episodes for those years never came to fruition, as the series has since been abandoned.

Rugrats Pre-School Daze is the second spin-off series to the Nickelodeon TV series Rugrats and the last series in the Rugrats franchise. It focuses on Angelica Pickles and Susie Carmichael as preschool students and is based on the Rugrats episode that piloted it. It first aired in the United Kingdom on July 25, 2005, and all episodes have been released on DVD in the United States. The show aired on Nickelodeon in the United States from November 16, 2008 to December 7, 2008 at 6:00 AM Eastern Time. With only four episodes produced and aired, it is the shortest-lived of all of the Nicktoons ever produced. The complete series was released on February 28, 2013 on iTunes.

The Rachel Zoe Project is an American reality documentary series starring celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. The series premiered on September 9, 2008 on the Bravo television network. The show also airs on Arena in Australia, Really in the United Kingdom, TV3 in Norway, Cosmopolitan TV in Canada, SIC Mulher in Portugal, and Sub in Finland. The show was confirmed by Bravo for a second season on December 5, 2008. Production began in January 2009. Zoe was spotted during Paris Fashion Week 2009, being followed by a TV crew filming footage for the show. Season 3 premiered on August 3, 2010 on Bravo. The third season covered the departure of Zoe's longtime styling associate, Taylor Jacobson, while introducing a new member to Team Zoe, Ashley Avignone. Season 4 premiered on September 6, 2011 on Bravo. Zoe confirmed that the series had been picked up for a fifth season in September 2012. The fifth season debuted on March 6, 2013.

Studio DC: Almost Live is a special for the Disney Channel. The special is a half-hour variety show that features both The Muppets and Disney Channel stars performing comedy sketches and musical numbers together. The style is similar to that of The Muppet Show in that it features mayhem occurring on the Disney Channel Studio sets in place of the Muppet Theater. A second special aired October 5, 2008 with Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Jake T. Austin, Jason Earles, Jason Dolley, Moises Arias, David Henrie and The Cheetah Girls guest starring. At the D23 Expo, it was announced that both specials will be released on DVD sometime in 2010. Its only DVD releases so far have been in the UK, in Germany and in Argentina.

Akkara Kazchakal is a Malayalam sitcom that aired on Kairali TV from 2008 to 2010. The series consisted of fifty episodes, and chronicled the lives of a middle-class Malayali family who have settled in the United States. The show was created by Abi Varghese and Ajayan Venugopalan and starred relative newcomers as the leads. The show is regarded as the first true Malayalam sitcom, and broke broadcasting conventions when it was uploaded into YouTube in its entirety by the show's creators. Akkarakazhchakal has enjoyed widespread popularity during its initial run as well as the subsequent years. The series has been especially commended for its realistic portrayal of Malayali life, social commentary and satirical humour. Josekutty Valiyakallumkal has been widely praised for his portrayal of George Thekkinmoottil, the patriarch of the family The show's popularity lead to a film titled Akkarakazhchakal: The Movie. The film was available for direct download at the show's website.

The show is currently being broadcast in the UK on CBBC having begun on February 21, 2009 and on Once TV in Mexico. Since Nicktoons Network debuted the series thirteen months later, Nickelodeon then aired eleven episodes as "never before seen episodes" of the series on July 4, 2009 until September 26, 2009.

Street Patrol is a reality television series based and filmed in various cities across the United States. It aired on truTV in the United States and Crime & Investigation Network in Australia. The show is produced by Morgan Langley & John Langley, the producers of the reality television series COPS. Street Patrol is made up of outtake footage from COPS that did not originally air. Many of these segments are from the early 1990s. Segments of Street Patrol often contain less action scenes and more police procedural work, and the series has earned a reputation from some critics as being less interesting and exciting than COPS. For a time in October to December 2012, reruns of Street Patrol aired on the G4 cable network.
