Spoons is a British sketch comedy programme produced by Endemol owned production company, Zeppotron for Channel 4 from 30 September 2005. The relationship themed show combined recent trends in sketch shows — dark content, strong language, and recurring catchphrases. It was not commissioned for a second series due to low ratings and poor reviews.

Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns is a paranormal reality television series which featured noted Medium Derek Acorah as he visited towns in the UK to investigate hauntings. The team would travel in the "Ghost Town Van" and would allow townsfolk to tell the team about their encounters with hauntings in their home town. During the investigation, Derek would visit a random house and give the owner a psychic reading this was "Doorstep Divination." The show aired from 7 November 2005 until 28 November 2006.

Hollyoaks: Let Loose was a spin-off of Hollyoaks that aired between September and December 2005. The series followed Ben Davies and Lisa Hunter as they decided to leave Hollyoaks for a new life abroad, however, their relationship is put to the test over Lisa's jealousy. The series aired a total of 14 episodes. The series was initially commissioned for 15 episodes, but episode 3 was cancelled suddenly.

Meet the Magoons is a six-part comedy television series in the United Kingdom aired on Channel 4 in 2005, directed by and starring Hardeep Singh Kohli. The main characters are a Punjabi family who live in Glasgow, and own an Indian restaurant called "The Spice". It received mixed reviews. A. A. Gill hoped it "might well evolve into something classic" and Nancy Banks-Smith of The Guardian called it "modern to the point of surreal". A second series was not commissioned.

Casualty@Holby City is the name given to special crossover episodes of BBC medical dramas Casualty and Holby City. While Casualty was launched on 6 September 1986, and its spin-off Holby City was first aired on 12 January 1999, the first full crossover episode between the two programmes was not broadcast until 24 December 2004. As of 27 December 2005, four crossover specials have been aired, comprising nine episodes total. Although further crossovers of storylines and characters have since occurred, they have not been broadcast under the Casualty@Holby City title.

Flying Heavy Metal is now repeated on the new channel from Discovery Networks UK called Discovery Turbo.

The series centred on the activities of a specialist medical unit, HEMS which is based in London, operated by the London Ambulance Service, in dealing with emergency cases. The show follows the kind of silliness from sketch comedy shows like Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Kids in the Hall. The first and only season, consisting of six episodes, aired in early 2005. The group's name comes from a grim T.S. Eliot poem. In 2006 they broadcast a BBC Radio 4 sketch show, also of the same name. The radio show was recommissioned and a second series was aired in September 2007. Both series also featured Katy Brand.

Celebrity Wrestling is a British television programme, broadcast on ITV in 2005. It involved two teams of celebrities, competing against each other in wrestling style events. The series was presented by Kate Thornton and Rowdy Roddy Piper. British mixed martial arts fighter Ian Freeman was the show's referee. The aftershow programme on ITV2, called Celebrity Wrestling: Bring It On was presented by Jack Osbourne and Holly Willoughby. The winning team was The Warriors and the winning wrestlers were Annabel Croft and Iwan Thomas. After five weeks the show was moved from its primetime Saturday evening slot to a graveyard Sunday morning slot due to its extremely poor ratings and being comprehensively beaten in audience share by Doctor Who on BBC One. It was received with a feeling of derision by professional wrestling fans, due to the lack of actual wrestling content. The show featured heavily upon games which involved grappling and the real life interactions of team members in training.

Dead Man Weds is a 6-part comedy series shown on ITV on British TV in January and early February 2005. The series was written by Dave Spikey who played the part of Jerry St Clair in Phoenix Nights. It was produced for ITV by the independent producers Red Production Company. There are two lead parts, one being Dave Spikey and the other being Johnny Vegas. The series is based on the fictional newspaper, The Fogburrow Advertiser. New editor, Gordon Garden, is determined to shake up the small rural newspaper office. Acting editor and all-round lazy slob Lewis Donat is furious at Gordon's appointment, convinced that the job should be his. Lewis's school of journalism involves going on a break as soon as he gets in, stealing stories from old piles of newspapers and getting the rest of the news from Joan at the cake shop, Cake That. The show's title was inspired by a headline from the Bolton Evening News. The series was filmed in Castleton in Derbyshire. The theme music, also used as incidental music and stings throughout the series, was a version of the Jonathan King composition "It's Good News Week", a 1965 hit for Hedgehoppers Anonymous.

Trust Me - I'm A Holiday Rep is a reality television show that was broadcast by Five in the United Kingdom. The first series ran nightly with 10 programmes over 2 weeks. It chronicles attempts by 6 celebrities to work as holiday reps for tour group Olympic Holidays. The programme was presented by Toby Anstis and Nancy Sorrell. Series 2 was also broadcast nightly over 10 days from Monday 18th - Wednesday 27 September. Again the celebs were working for Olympic Holidays, this time in Malia in Crete in Greece. The series was presented by Lucy Rusedski and Andy Goldstein.

29 Minutes of Fame is a British satirical celebrity quiz series which aired on BBC One on Fridays in early 2005. The show was presented by comedian Bob Mortimer. The show's two team captains were Jo Brand and Alistair McGowan, they were also joined by a regular panelist Sean Lock.

The character of Shirley Ghostman is sometimes considered to be a parody of the supposed act of controversial psychic, Derek Acorah and contains actual satirical references to the television show 6ixth Sense with Colin Fry in Shirley's opening speech to the audience. The show was very successful on BBC Three and was set to move to BBC Two in the summer of 2005.

It was broadcast weekly on a Friday, with several repeats during the following week. The show was created by Andy Marlatt and Tony Roche. It was produced and directed by David Tyler. The number seven features heavily during the programme and features in several lists between sections. Various comedians comment on the week's news. These have included Jo Caulfield, Richard Herring, Will Smith, Lucy Porter, John Oliver and Junior Simpson. The main narrator is Jon Holmes. The voiceover artists are Emma Kennedy and Ewan Bailey.

World Shut Your Mouth was a hidden camera television series starring Dom Joly that ran on Friday nights in 2005 on BBC One. Dom Joly made his name on the similar series Trigger Happy TV on Channel 4, and it was from its great success that he was hired by the BBC to produce new programming. His first effort was an unsuccessful spoof chat show named This Is Dom Joly. The lack of success in conventional comedy prompted him to go back to his hidden camera roots and started to create a new series which was very similar to Trigger Happy TV, with short stunts overlaid with a soundtrack. He was the main participant in these stunts. As with his previous work, the programme had an emphasis on surrealism, with sketches such as a spying gnome and nerds taunting skaters and him dressing up in aluminium foil like a superhero, being a partner of a traffic warden who was technically ignoring him. The main difference between Trigger Happy TV and World Shut Your Mouth was the scope of the show. Where Trigger Happy TV took place in various places around the United Kingdom, the larger budget of World Shut Your Mouth allowed for international travel and filming, and many of the stunts took place at, or near, major international landmarks.
