Argumental is a British improvised comedy panel game with Sean Lock as host, alongside two teams captained by Robert Webb and Seann Walsh, debating and arguing on various topics with help from various guests. It is made by independent production company Tiger Aspect Productions for Dave and made its debut on 27 October 2008. Series three was commissioned for Dave and four episodes from the second series aired on BBC Two, making it UKTV's most successful commission in terms of reach of audience. A fourth series began airing on Dave HD on 3 November 2011, with its second half still to be aired.

Apparitions is a BBC drama about Father Jacob Myers, a priest of the Roman Catholic Church, played by Martin Shaw, who examines evidence of miracles to be used in canonisation but also performs exorcisms. As he learns, Jacob's duties run deeper than just sending demons back to Hell; he later must prevent them all from escaping. Unlike most portrayals of exorcism and spirit possession in fiction, Apparitions is more religiously accurate and fact-based, incorporating the nature of demonic possession as described by the Church. It also recounts historical events associated with Christianity and other Abrahamic religions, which may have been caused by Heaven or Hell, indicating that the War described in the Bible may not have fully concluded. The series is written by Joe Ahearne.

Hole in the Wall was a game show that aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom. This game was an adaptation of the Japanese game Brain Wall in which, players must contort themselves to fit through cutout holes of varying shapes in a large polystyrene wall moving towards them as they stand in front of a swimming pool. Each week, two teams of television personalities compete for £10,000 in prize money to be donated to their chosen charity. Dale Winton served as the original host while Strictly Come Dancing ballroom dancer Anton du Beke and former international cricketer Darren Gough were the team captains for the first series. Additionally, Jonathan Pearce comments on the replays and Peter Dickson provides the opening voice-over. The wall is activated by the presenter shouting Bring on the wall!. On 3 July 2008, the BBC announced that the show had been commissioned for BBC One. A second series was confirmed, with Anton du Beke giving up his captain role to take over from Dale Winton as host, and new team captains in the shape of former rugby player Austin Healey and actor Joe Swash. Anton du Beke has announced he may be a guest as well as hosting on the last show of the series.

Scallywagga is a British comedy sketch show, written by Stuart Kenworthy, who has worked on Green Wing and Smack the Pony. The executive producer of series one was Kenton Allen, and the producer was Jon Montague. The pilot episode aired on 21 March 2007 when the show was known as Spacehopper. Sally Lindsey confirmed on The Paul O'Grady Show that there would be a second series which was also filmed in and around Manchester, bringing on board a new Director and new Producer and several cast changes. The first series was broadcast on TV in 2008 and the DVD was released in early 2010 along with series 1. Series 2 began broadcasting on Tuesday 23 February 2010.

CelebAir was a reality TV series in which 11 celebrities performed the duties of cabin crew and check-in attendants. The series was presented by Angellica Bell and aired on ITV2 from 2 September 2008 until 23 October 2008, when Lisa Maffia was declared the winner. For the show, Monarch Airlines repainted one of its Airbus A321 aircraft, registration G-OZBI, with the CelebAir logo along with a new tail fin design. The aircraft was used for the majority of CelebAir flights although the celebrities additionally worked on normal Monarch branded aircraft. CelebAir activity took place on Monarch flights which were already part of the summer schedule; with the rear of the aircraft allocated as the CelebAir cabin with the celebrities working from the rear galley along with their mentors. Before any of the celebrities were allowed to start their new jobs, they undertook a six-week training programme run by Monarch and were required to adhere to Monarch’s standards whilst working for CelebAir. The series is set in London Gatwick Airport and, in the finale, the private jet took off and landed at London Stansted Airport. There are seven destinations that CelebAir flew to; those being Tenerife South Airport, Faro Airport, Málaga Airport, Ibiza Airport, Mahon Airport, Larnaca International Airport and Alicante Airport.

Snog Marry Avoid? is a British reality television show broadcast on BBC Three, produced by Remarkable Television. The first four series were presented by Atomic Kitten member Jenny Frost, with Ellie Taylor presenting from the fifth series onwards. The show focuses mainly on transforming 'fakery obsessed' or 'slap addicts' in Britain into natural beauties by stripping them of their skimpy clothes and layers of make-up and giving them a makeunder instead of a makeover with the help of POD – the Personal Overhaul Device. I'd Do Anything was a 2008 talent show-themed television series produced by the BBC in the United Kingdom and broadcast on BBC One. It premièred on 15 March 2008. The show searched for a new, unknown lead to play Nancy and three young performers who will take it in turns to play Oliver in a West End revival of the British musical Oliver!. The show, named after the song "I'd Do Anything", was hosted by Graham Norton with Andrew Lloyd Webber again overseeing the programme, together with theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh. In January 2008, John Barrowman confirmed he would be taking part in the show. The BBC also confirmed in late February 2008 that Barry Humphries would join Barrowman and Denise Van Outen on the judging panel of the show. Auditions for the show began in January 2008, with the show airing on BBC One throughout March, April and May 2008. In the final, on 31 May, Jodie Prenger was announced as the winner of the series.

Upstaged contenders were voted into two glass-fronted studios in Millennium Square, Bristol, where they had to entertain for six hours at a time, with only a few breaks allowed. During the heats, acts were chosen by Internet voters, with the winners of each day performing the next day for a maximum of four days in a row. Highlights were shown on BBC Three on Friday nights throughout February 2008 and daily from mid-March, and were presented by DJ Scott Mills. The eight acts who won the most days, or by the highest percentage, made it to the finals week, which started on 24 March. The quarter finalists were bluegrass musicians The Carrivick Sisters, Polekitten pole dancing team, Badger Trap, Perth singer Don1977, Raving Loonies Stole My Heart, Dizzi Dulcimer, Youstage: Vloggers From The UK and wildcard Terry the Odd Job Man, a creation of comedian Jody Kamali, who had knocked singer-songwriter Chris Cohen out at the last minute. The semi-finals were on 28 March when Youstage won against Polekitten and 29 March with Don1977 winning his heat against student comedians Raving Loonies Stole My Heart.

Freefonix is a British CGI animated television series about the adventures of fictional band of the same name. The series launched on 4 January 2008 and aired on children channel CBBC's on their daily segment on BBC One for thirteen weeks. The rest of the series, which consists of 40 x 24 minute episodes, along with the first thirteen, broadcast over the winter period on weekends on CBBC from 8 December 2008 into the January of 2009.

The Kevin Bishop Show was a sketch comedy written by and starring English comedian Kevin Bishop, part of the Star Stories team. The show was commissioned by Channel 4 for a six-part series starting on the 25th of July 2008 at 10pm. A pilot was broadcast on the 23rd of November 2007 as part of Channel 4's Comedy Showcase and the programme soon earned interest for its incredibly fast pace; 42 sketches were shown in 23 minutes. The show was nominated for Best New Comedy at the 2008 British Comedy Awards. The show started its second series on Friday the 31st of July 2009 at 10pm on Channel 4.

Miss Naked Beauty is a short-lived, six-episode reality television show produced by Maverick Television, aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. The show, presented by Gok Wan and Myleene Klass, was conceived as a radical "reality" take on beauty pageants. Some 7000 women applied to become the "ultimate 21st century beauty queen". The focus of the program is on natural and diverse beauty, as opposed to surgically "enhanced" and conformist concepts of beauty. In the first episode, hundreds of remaining applicants were whittled down to just twelve finalists, by a panel of judges composed of fashion stylist Gok Wan, musician Myleene Klass, magazine editor James Brown, journalist Kathryn Flett and musician, actress and TV presenter Mica Paris. In subsequent episodes, various issues were explored such as body image, plastic surgery, self-esteem, modern versus Renaissance and earlier notions of beauty, eating disorders, over-reliance on makeup, the fashion industry. Meanwhile, the programme also progressed as a pageant, eliminating contestants in typical reality TV style, down to five finalists.
