My Sweetheart

The plot revolves around the romantic conflict involving four young people who have known each other since childhood. Antônio Mourão, an orphan raised by Father Ovídio, has two dreams in life: to graduate in Medicine – he has just passed the entrance exam – and to marry Rebeca, one of the daughters of his godfather, the Protestant pastor Bilac. Antônio and Rebeca end up separated thanks to the interference of Lívia, the youngest daughter of Pastor Bilac. Sensual and deceitful, she dreams of abandoning her life in São Tomás de Trás, working as a lacemaker and attending her father's church services, to live in the big city. She sees in Antônio a chance to fulfill her desire and, even knowing about the romance between the young man and her sister, she orchestrates a situation to seduce him and manages to get pregnant by him. The two are then forced to marry and move to the capital.

The Vice

The Vice is an ITV police drama about the Metropolitan Police Vice Unit. Spanning five short series from 1999 and 2003, it follows the London Metropolitan police force's vice squad, where prostitution, underage sex, and such organised crime are regular occurrences. Most episodes end where the main villain is caught but often not in a 'naturally' concluded way expected from other TV dramas, and often ending with more unanswered questions than answered. Leader DI Pat Chappel struggles to manage the balance between his private and professional lives — as do the rest of the team. Working in the seedy underworld leads to a continual dilemma — the tension between the Vice Squad and vice-related crimes runs throughout the series and gives the show a rich viewing experience. The line of the team staying on the right side of the law is often blurred, as almost every member at different points submits briefly or permanently to the dubious temptations, sometimes with drastic consequences.

Good News Week

Good News Week was an Australian satirical panel game show hosted by Paul McDermott that aired from 19 April 1996 to 27 May 2000, and 11 February 2008 to 28 April 2012. The show's initial run aired on ABC until being bought by Network Ten in 1999. The show was revived for its second run when the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike caused many of Network Ten's imported US programmes to cease production. The show opened with a monologue by McDermott relating to recent headlines, after which two teams of three panellists competed in recurring segments to gain points. The show has spawned three short-lived spin-off series, the ABC's Good News Weekend, Ten's GNW Night Lite and Ten's skit-based Good News World.
