Gerak Khas is a long running Malaysian television series. The police drama first aired on May 4, 1999 on Radio Televisyen Malaysia's TV2. There are three films based from the series. ⁕Gerak Khas the Movie ⁕Gerak Khas the Movie II ⁕GK3 The Movie The first movie, released in early 2001, topped the Malaysian box office. Datuk Yusof Haslam directed both the series and the films for his Skop Productions. Cast members include Abby Abadi as Inspektor Aleeza and AC Mizal as Inspektor Mazlan. In the first film, they faced crime bosses Castelo and Rafayel.

Croc Files is a wildlife documentary television series focusing on crocodiles first aired on cable TV channel Animal Planet. Foolish Heart was a Canadian television series, which aired on CBC Television in 1999. The series, a short run dramatic anthology, was produced and written by Ken Finkleman following his earlier series The Newsroom and More Tears. Finkleman also starred in the series as George Findlay, the same character he had played in The Newsroom and More Tears. The series won Finkleman a 1999 Gemini Award for Best Direction in a Dramatic Series. The cast also included Arsinée Khanjian, Sarah Strange, Tom McCamus, Nancy Beatty and Patricia O'Callaghan. Finkleman's next project for the CBC was the series Foreign Objects.

The Teen Choice Awards is a teen awards show presented annually by Fox. The first awards were held in 1999. A Little Curious is a children's television show which has aired on HBO Family since 1998, lasting for just two seasons, and. The 23-minute episodes are essentially anthologies of shorts centered on a common, easily digested theme such as "Up and Down" or "Slippery." While each short draws from the same pool of characters, one unique element of the show is that each short may be produced using one of a number of animation techniques, such as stop-motion, Flash animation, traditional 2-D cel animation, and 3-D CGI, along with live-action segments narrated by Bob the Ball. Chewin' the Fat is a Scottish comedy sketch show, starring Ford Kiernan, Greg Hemphill and Karen Dunbar. Comedians Paul Riley and Mark Cox also appeared regularly on the show. Chewin' the Fat gave rise to the spin-off show Still Game, a sitcom focusing on the two old male characters Jack and Victor. The series was mostly filmed in and around Glasgow and occasionally West Dunbartonshire. The English idiom to chew the fat means to chat casually, but thoroughly, about subjects of mutual interest.

Ultraman Nice arrives from the planet TOY-1 in a series of infomercials (1-minute toy commercials) presented during the 1999 Japanese reruns of Ultraman Tiga. The 1-minute spots, advertising the wide variety of Bandai Ultraman toys and other merchandise, actually do have a storyline, along with some surprise guests. Throughout the series, Alien Zagon and his monsters attacked Earth for the Bandai figures. However, at each attack, Ultraman Nice managed to defeat them and, at the end of the series, the aliens were finally vanquished
