This documentary re-creates the momentous Frankfurt trial. Rolf Bickel and Dietrich Wagner build the film around taped testimony from more than 200 Auschwitz survivors. Twenty-two former members of Hitler's SS, many of whom had carved out comfortable lives for themselves in postwar West Germany, stood trial in 1963 before 360 witnesses who accused them of murdering millions.

It started with Lenin and ended with Gorbachev. In this three-part documentary we highlight the people and events that played key roles in the rise of a revolutionary idea and the fall of an empire. How was it possible that this idea could fascinate so many people, including hundreds of intellectuals? How did so many thousands of people put up with suppression, indignity and economic hardship and still remain true to the fundamental concepts of communism?

This two-part documentary depicts an incredible visual range, from snow storms in the mountains of the north to remote islands in the glistening Mediterranean: contrasts of untamed nature not found anywhere else in Europe. Greece is unique. Nowhere else are such different temperature zones found side by side, extending from ice-age lakes to dense primeval forests and barren, desert-like areas. Nowhere else is the wildlife so divergent and full of contrasts, with creatures seldom found in their natural habitats anywhere else in Europe; here they have developed special strategies and behavior in order to survive.

Otto is an independent and clever street dog. He lives in a wastebasket under a streetlight and dreams of big bones. Like all dogs, he needs a lot of love and attention. He gets into of conflicts with ruthless car drivers, rich ladies with pedigree dogs or spoiled overbred terrriers. But what makes him really amiss are holidaymakers, people who simply abandon their dogs, the dog catcher and of course animal experiments. However, as Otto is a humorous dog, he finds an ingenious solution for every problem.

At the end of the XIX century in Russia, Prince Dimitri Necklivdov is called as a jury-man in a trial. The defendant is Katiuscia Maslova, accused of murdering a merchant in order to rob him. Dimitri recognizes Katiuscia: she was the girl he seduced many years before. Dimitri decides to save her.

Experiential education is centuries old and remains controversial to this day. When two social educators from the Johannes Petersen Home in Hamburg and a teacher traveled to southern Portugal in March 1984 with "criminally conspicuous" children and adolescents, it was a unique educational experiment for the Federal Republic of Germany at the time. The boys were to live together in tents for three months, learning and improving their social behavior.
