Morio Koga, an employee of a major trading company in Tokyo, returns to his hometown in Hotaka, Nagano Prefecture, after seven years to lead the "Azumino Squall Project." He reunites with his high school classmates and discovers that his first love, Michi Tanaka, is engaged to his friend, Hiroki Hayashi. The redevelopment plan for Koga's company clashes with Hiroki's environmental protection efforts, causing a conflict between Koga's job and friendships. Despite her engagement, Michi finds herself drawn to Koga, who, in turn, attempts to break up with his girlfriend in Tokyo to be with Michi.

Fubuki's obvious admiration for Kirie and her work are offset by Tsuji's lack of faith in the profiling profession. But both are driven by their unwavering desire to bring the killers to justice.

Hangar 17 show was a music and variety show for 9 to 13 year olds. The show was presented by stand-up comedian Mickey Hutton and featured a mixture of jugglers, mime artists and comedians along with the more usual musical guests. In the first series the show promoted unsigned musical guests, during a Battle of the Bands feature but this idea was dropped from the second series in favour of more established acts such as East 17. The show also featured Brit School pupil Paul Leyshon as the show's resident DJ and was produced by Peter Leslie.
