Snub TV was an alternative culture television program that ran from 1987 to 1989. The original program, while made in the UK, was developed by American producer Fran Duffy and aired as part of the Night Flight variety show. In 1989-1991 a UK version aired for three seasons on the BBC, and was syndicated to the pan-European TV channel Super Channel and in other countries in Europe, such as Russia, Portugal, Denmark and Greece. Snub's main focus was on documenting musical groups such as The Stone Roses, with the UK version putting an emphasis on the indie and underground music scene in the UK during the rise of Madchester. The British series also featured other acts such as comedians. Snub TV has been credited with giving many then-new bands and musical acts initial and extra exposure to the major music business circles.

Gamboa is a Peruvian television series broadcast by Panamericana Televisión between 1983 and 1987. The series takes place in the city of Lima in the Cercado de Lima district. It revolves around the experienced Major Gamboa, a policeman who is in charge of solving the most violent police cases, but very effective in resolving the events that arise.

The Practice was a 1985 British television soap opera produced for ITV by Granada Television, which aired for two series in 1985 and 1986. The series was first introduced as a twice-weekly medical drama in January 1985, becoming Granada's second regular networked soap opera along with Coronation Street, with the idea being that its hard-hitting storylines would be a competitor with the BBC's EastEnders which started airing the following month. The Practice was set in a GP's surgery in the fictional Manchester suburb of Castlehulme and had an initial run of 34 episodes airing for 30 minutes in an early evening slot on Friday and Sunday evenings throughout the Winter and Spring of 1985. However, the series did not perform as well as had been hoped and it disappeared from screens in May 1985. It returned for a second run of 13 one hour episodes between May and August 1986, this time airing in a 9pm slot on Friday evenings. After series two ended no further episodes were made.

Prison drama described as a series of "dramatised documentaries" based on real events in South African prisons over 75 years. The series follows the lives of the inmates and wardens of Pretoria Central Prison and in particular the hero, Skollie and his constant escape attempts. After two series, the story was concluded in a film called Vyfster, Die Slot, which follows Skollie's battle to find his son despite the scheming of his enemies inside and outside prison.
