Buccaneer is a short-lived television series, made by the BBC in 1979–80, and broadcast over 13 weeks in April–July 1980. The series, about a developing air freight business, starred Bryan Marshall, Pamela Salem and Clifford Rose, and was produced by Gerard Glaister. The aircraft that "starred" in the series was a Bristol Britannia of Redcoat Air Cargo, registration G-BRAC, which wore the markings of "Redair", the name of the fictional airline in the series. Only one series was produced due to the Bristol Britannia G-BRAC crash near Boston, Mass., on 16 February 1980, shortly after the completion of filming. Of the eight passengers, seven were killed, and only one survived, albeit seriously injured.

Bottle Boys is an ITV sitcom produced for two series in 1984-85. Andy Robson is a 1982 British children's television series produced by Tyne Tees Television and which was aired on the ITV network for two series in 1982 and 1983. It was based on Frederick Grice's novel The Courage of Andy Robson, published in 1969. Set in Edwardian England and starring Tom Davidson as the eponymous hero, Andy Robson, the series concerned the adventures of Andy, who had been sent to live with his aunt and uncle in rural Northumberland from a coal mining town in County Durham in North East England after his father was injured in a pit accident. The series also starred Stephanie Tague and Stevie-Lee Pattinson as Victoria and Alec, two of Andy's friends in his new surroundings.

Punchlines was a comedy game show series hosted by Lennie Bennett that was produced by LWT and aired on the ITV network from January 3, 1981 until December 22, 1984. The show was based on an unsold U.S. pilot hosted by Bill Cullen which was made for daily syndication on December 30, 1979 as an attempt to revive Eye Guess which ran on NBC from January 3, 1966 to September 26, 1969 and, like Punchlines, was created by Bob Stewart and hosted by Cullen. An Australian pilot was also made for the Seven Network on August 20, 1986 - hosted by Jeremy Kewley but it failed to sell.
