Bilder, die die Welt bewegten is a German documentary series, broadcast between 1980 and 1984 on ZDF. The title translates as Images That Changed The World. The series presented film footage of major natural disasters, technological disasters, and accidents. The series was directed and narrated by journalist Peter von Zahn.

Ten programs filmed across Europe explore the history of European art through masterpieces of architecture, sculpture, and painting. The series spans from Greek and Roman art to Christian, Byzantine, and Gothic styles, followed by the Baroque, Rococo, and the artistic movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.

In over eight years of research, "Der Prozess" follows the longest criminal proceedings in Germany′s legal history - the "Majdanek Trial". In interviews with judges, the accused, victims and eye witnesses, and with the use of documentary footage and reports, the film recounts (in three parts) the legal trials against the workers and perpetrators of the Lublin/Majdanek concentration camp from the first day to the pronouncement of the judgment.

The series shows the daily life of a Turkish family in Germany and focuses on their problems which arise in part from an inadequate command of German language and its relation to Turkish and German neighbors. The Korkmaz family consists of a mother Pembe, mistress of the house, father Dursun, daughter Hatim, the problem child Cengiz, and the youngest daughter Sanem.

Experiential education is centuries old and remains controversial to this day. When two social educators from the Johannes Petersen Home in Hamburg and a teacher traveled to southern Portugal in March 1984 with "criminally conspicuous" children and adolescents, it was a unique educational experiment for the Federal Republic of Germany at the time. The boys were to live together in tents for three months, learning and improving their social behavior.

1000 Meisterwerke was a German art series. It was the German version of the British 100 Great Paintings. From 1980 through 1994, the German broadcaster WDR produced the series, which was broadcast by ARD, ORF and BR. In each of the 10-minute broadcasts, a single painting was presented and analyzed by an art historian. The Sunday evening broadcasts had five million viewers.

The documentary film explores various facets of the urban planning program in three chapters: 1. New Living – New Building, 2. Housing for the Minimum Subsistence Level, 3. The Frankfurt Kitchen. In addition to the architects and designers involved, kitchen manufacturers as well as numerous first-time residents of the apartments in the May Settlements also share their perspectives as eyewitnesses.
