Inspector Marlen

There is no department in the MOORE structure that deals with solving crimes in the show business environment, but there is one special person who practices this and quite successfully - investigator Marlene Simonov. Simonov is an investigator of the "old school". Behind the mask of a simpleton in an old jacket lies an unsurpassed powers of observation, which Marlene has honed over the years, and over time has turned into a "walking lie detector" capable of unnerving anyone to tell more than he intended.

I racconti di padre Brown

Renato Rascel dons the priest-detective's cassock and, with irony and wit, embodies the character of Father Brown in the six episodes that make up the series. Endowed with a great humanity that allows him to “read” hearts, the protagonist, assisted by the repentant thief Flambeau, solves the cases that arise by resorting to psychological insights that are every bit as good as those of Agatha Christie or Georges Simenon. The series, produced by Rai and broadcast on Rai Uno in prime time, was a huge success with critics and audiences alike and also marked Renato Rascel's personal breakthrough as a comedy actor. He also wrote the theme song, which topped the charts for many weeks.

The Gallery of the Great Detectives

This is a 7-part German crime series by Peter A. Horn. In self-contained and unconnected episodes, the great detectives of crime literature solve various cases. Sherlock Holmes (Ernst Fritz Fürbringer) and Dr. Watson (Harald Mannl) start things off, followed by Auguste Dupin, David Wilson, Father Brown, Inspector Bucket, Sergeant Cuff and Hercule Poirot. Every episode of this early crime series in the early days of television was still broadcast live. It could hardly have been more irregular: it was broadcast in loose succession on different days at different start times in prime time, and the length of the broadcast varied between 25 and 50 minutes.

Chariots of the Gods

Fifty million stars in our galaxy have the potential of supporting life forms capable of traveling to other planets, says world-renowned authority Erich von Daniken, whose film version of his best-selling book, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, gives stunning visual proof that some form of life from outer space landed on Earth centuries ago. Just what they did here and the influences they left behind is the core of the film. Although this controversial film may provide the answers to age old mysteries, it may be the beginning of an entirely new set of questions. Germany, 1972, Color, 90 minutes, English Language.
