LINCOLN is a Japanese variety show. It premiered on October 18, 2005 and ended on September 10, 2013, and aired on TBS every Tuesday night. Hosted by Downtown, it features seven other owarai geinin in its regular cast, and has several recurring younger, up-and-coming comedians as guests. The show uses Abraham Lincoln as its mascot, and its slogan is: "The program of the geinin, by the geinin, for the geinin," parodying a line from his famous Gettysburg Address. The object of the show is to have the younger comedians watch and learn from the more experienced comedians through fun and games. The opening uses the song "The Revolution" by BT and features the regular cast as superheroic anime characters in a futuristic setting. The animation was done by Studio 4°C, a studio well known for The Animatrix. The opening has since changed to a LINCOLN version of the opening to Kinpachi-sensei and was directed by Ogiyahagi. Tomomitsu Yamaguchi, a regular when the show started, later became a semi-regular due to conflicts with his work schedule.

It aired its second season on NBC as a regular series showing video footages of humorous events from various functions, but the show was not renewed after the 2005-2006 season. However, it continued to air in repeats and returned with all new episodes on April 22, 2008. Scott Satin was the executive producer. John Cramer was the narrator. Bob Eubanks hosted the Most Outrageous Game Show Moments series, but the regular Most Outrageous Moments series had no regular host.

World Shut Your Mouth was a hidden camera television series starring Dom Joly that ran on Friday nights in 2005 on BBC One. Dom Joly made his name on the similar series Trigger Happy TV on Channel 4, and it was from its great success that he was hired by the BBC to produce new programming. His first effort was an unsuccessful spoof chat show named This Is Dom Joly. The lack of success in conventional comedy prompted him to go back to his hidden camera roots and started to create a new series which was very similar to Trigger Happy TV, with short stunts overlaid with a soundtrack. He was the main participant in these stunts. As with his previous work, the programme had an emphasis on surrealism, with sketches such as a spying gnome and nerds taunting skaters and him dressing up in aluminium foil like a superhero, being a partner of a traffic warden who was technically ignoring him. The main difference between Trigger Happy TV and World Shut Your Mouth was the scope of the show. Where Trigger Happy TV took place in various places around the United Kingdom, the larger budget of World Shut Your Mouth allowed for international travel and filming, and many of the stunts took place at, or near, major international landmarks.

The Ron White Show was a 2005 TV special that appeared in the WB in 2005. It starred comedian Ron White, was directed by C.B. Harding and written by Donick Cary. It featured two cartoon segments that are now available on White's official website. The show was meant to be part of an evening of Blue Collar programming on the WB, which would have also included two episodes of Blue Collar TV and an episode of Bill Engvall's Mobile Home Disaster. However, this only lasted for a single evening, as Ron's show disappeared immediately, and Mobile Home Disaster followed suit soon afterwards. The only aired episode of The Ron White Show began with White briefly taking in the different pleasures of Las Vegas, followed by a series of short sketches. The show included appearances by "Dr Phil" McGraw and comedians Dave Attell, Rip Taylor, and the trio from Blue Collar TV, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy. The show is available on Region 1 DVD from Sony with an ISBN of 1-4049-9988-4.

The Friday Night Project was a British comedy-variety show by Princess Productions that first aired on Channel 4 in February 2005 under the title The Friday Night Project. Originally broadcast on Friday nights, the show moved to Sunday nights for its seventh series in 2008. Each week the regular hosts Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr are joined by a celebrity guest host. These guests provide an opening monologue, are interviewed by Alan and Justin and take questions from the studio audience. Minding the Store is a 2005 reality TV show starring Pauly Shore. The show was based around Shore trying to revitalize his acting career and run the family business, The Comedy Store. Shore is helped by his staff, which includes manager Dean Gelber, talent booker Tommy Morris, and handyman Marlon Hernandez. The show featured several comics, including Tommy Chong, Jay London, Marc Hatchell and Ari Shaffir. The first season featured ten episodes, including Shore organizing a roster of "hot girl" comedians, learning jousting at Medieval Times, and a roast of Shore while he sat on a gold throne complete with a red toilet seat. Shore and TBS claimed that if anyone did not laugh while viewing the show that they would receive a dollar if they wrote to the network to ask for one. No person that wrote to request the dollar is believed to have ever received one and many were said to have been marked as "return to sender." The show was canceled after its short run.

Frequently the celebrities were shown in a poor light. The host of the show is never seen and is a voice-over only. He often opens the show with a somewhat humorous song about the video that was presented over the course of the show. In addition, the host normally sings a few songs about celebrities doing something normal things, such as scratching an itch or grocery shopping. The show initially aired weekly episodes for approximately 4 months but with mediocre ratings. It was put on hiatus in July 2006. It returned in February 2007 albeit on a more sporadic airing basis.
