Stand Up for the Week is a British television comedy series shown on Channel 4, featuring stand-up comedy performances reflecting topical events. The show began in June 2010 with a six-episode series aired on Friday nights, moving to Saturday nights for the second series which began in March 2011. The first series was hosted by Patrick Kielty, with regular performers Jack Whitehall, Kevin Bridges, Andi Osho and Rich Hall. Bridges replaced Kielty as host for the second series, with Jon Richardson joining as a regular performer. Richardson took over as host of the show for the third series which aired in late 2011, and aside from Rich Hall returning, an otherwise entirely new group of regular performers joined the show: Seann Walsh, Sara Pascoe, Josh Widdicombe and Paul Chowdhry. For the fourth series Andrew Lawrence replaced Rich Hall. For the fifth series, Chowdhry will take over as host but it is unknown who will replace him or if any other regulars have been replaced.

Each episode features a central storyline in which two people meet. Originally, these were almost always completely different characters who had never met before; in Season 2, however, the main characters are often married couples, bosses and employees, coworkers, etc. Sketches are incorporated into the overarching plot, for example, when a character mentions a relative or an event.

Knight, co-produced by Hat Trick Productions and Media Rights Capital for Comedy Central and BBC Two, which premiered on April 9, 2009 in the USA and on June 11 in the UK. It began airing on July 8 in Canada, on Citytv. In August 2009, it was reported that the series was canceled after Comedy Central pulled out of the production, but the BBC has retracted this claim, stating that a second series could be produced if they were able to gain a new funding partner. According to Jimmy Mulville of Hat Trick Productions, "There is a bit of misinformation going on. As far as the writers and the controller of BBC comedy and the controller of BBC2 and Matt Lucas are concerned, we are developing a second series."

It was written by Andrew Marshall, writer of the sitcom 2point4 children. The show starred Gary Olsen and Roger Lloyd Pack who both starred in 2point4 children, as well as Victor McGuire and Deborah Norton. The setting was a hospital and each episode was 30 minutes in length.

My Wife Next Door is a BBC sitcom created by Brian Clemens which was written by Richard Waring and was first broadcast in 1972. It ran for 13 episodes and focused on a couple, George Basset and Suzie Basset. Each tries to start afresh after their divorce. They move to the country, only to find that they have moved into adjoining cottages. When the series was repeated in 1979, it gained better ratings than its first outing and topped the BBC1 weekly ratings several times during the repeat run. This was in part due to the ITV strike that limited British viewing to BBC1 and BBC2 for several weeks.
