World Shut Your Mouth was a hidden camera television series starring Dom Joly that ran on Friday nights in 2005 on BBC One. Dom Joly made his name on the similar series Trigger Happy TV on Channel 4, and it was from its great success that he was hired by the BBC to produce new programming. His first effort was an unsuccessful spoof chat show named This Is Dom Joly. The lack of success in conventional comedy prompted him to go back to his hidden camera roots and started to create a new series which was very similar to Trigger Happy TV, with short stunts overlaid with a soundtrack. He was the main participant in these stunts. As with his previous work, the programme had an emphasis on surrealism, with sketches such as a spying gnome and nerds taunting skaters and him dressing up in aluminium foil like a superhero, being a partner of a traffic warden who was technically ignoring him. The main difference between Trigger Happy TV and World Shut Your Mouth was the scope of the show. Where Trigger Happy TV took place in various places around the United Kingdom, the larger budget of World Shut Your Mouth allowed for international travel and filming, and many of the stunts took place at, or near, major international landmarks.

The Idiot Weekly, Price 2d was the first serious attempt to translate the humour of The Goon Show to television. It was made by Associated-Rediffusion during 1956 and was broadcast only in the London area. It combined elements of a sitcom and sketch comedy with Peter Sellers as the editor of a tatty Victorian newspaper, The Idiot Weekly. The headlines of the paper were used as links to comedy sketches. Although written mainly by Spike Milligan, there were many contributions from members of the writers' co-operative Associated London Scripts, including Dave Freeman and Terry Nation, with Eric Sykes credited as the script editor. The series was produced and directed by Richard Lester. It was followed by A Show Called Fred and Son of Fred. The title was revived by Spike Milligan for the Australian radio series The Idiot Weekly.

The Wright Way was a British television sitcom written by Ben Elton which began airing on BBC One on 23 April 2013. It concerns a health and safety manager, his staff, and his family. Widely panned by critics, it was cancelled after only one series had aired.

Out of Tune was a British children's TV sitcom which was shown on CBBC from 1996 to 1998. It features a group of fictional children that belong to a church choir at a school and their practice sessions. However the choir is humorously bad, hence the name 'Out of Tune', and the practice sessions are often interrupted by one thing or another. The show aired at 4:35 on BBC1 on Tuesday and Wednesday and it had a total of 40 episodes over three series. The first series started on 14 February 1996 and finished on 4 June later that year. The last episode was aired on 9 June 1998.

We Are History is a British comedy series broadcast on the BBC. It ran for two series of six ten-minute episodes. The series was a parody of historical and archaeological documentaries, especially those of the Time Team, Meet the Ancestors and Simon Schama. Marcus Brigstocke played dubious historian David Oxley, who would attempt to 'recreate' a number of historical events in a modern setting. In one episode, he recreated the Viking invasion of Britain in "the last bastion of Viking control" - an Ikea store. In another, he recreated the Spanish Armada in a swimming pool with children throwing foam balls at one another. Much of the humour derived from Oxley's singular incompetence and stupidity. He seemed totally unaware of the facts of history and often made things up as he went along. Each episode had a general theme that offered a view of history totally at odds with the known facts - such as Camelot being buried underneath Heathrow Airport or the Norman invasion being a bunch of French visitors who overstayed their welcome and got carried away. In every episode, Oxley talked of "new evidence unearthed by local enthusiasts".

Get a Grip was a television series shown on ITV in the United Kingdom. It aired on Wednesday nights in April/May 2007 and was hosted by Ben Elton and Alexa Chung. The programme was made by Phil McIntyre Productions and Big Bear Films. ITV dropped Get a Grip from its 10pm slot as it was not performing well in terms of ratings. The programme was moved to Monday nights after midnight for the rest of the series. The show received an averaged audience of around 1.5 million, usually being beaten by rival channels BBC One and Channel 4.

The main characters Sissy Le Poop, Smelly Pete and Shark Bait all live on the ship called "The Soiled Pair" and go on a different random adventure in every episode. It was a Comedy/Drama set in a night club, where three bouncers—Chike played by Paul Rider, Skodge played by Andrew Dunn and Kenny played by Andrew Livingstone—helped to protect the newly formed Ritz night club from a rival club owner, Mad Mick, played by Richard Ridings.

Sir Yellow was a British TV sitcom aired on ITV from 15 July - 19 August 1973. It starred Jimmy Edwards in the title role and also featured Melvyn Hayes, Alan Curtis, and Michael Ripper. The show was set in the 13th century and followed the misadventures of a cowardly, womanising, alcoholic knight. The programme was axed after just one series following bad reviews and was never brought back for a second; in 2003 the TV critic Mark Lewisohn named it "the 20th worst British sitcom of all time" in his book The Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy.
