Each of the short stories is based on either one or several stories by a wonderful Russian writer. The heroes are ordinary people “of the people”, contemporaries of Shukshin, all of whose life’s ups and downs are inextricably linked with their country - the Soviet Union of the 60s-70s. The main thing that unites both the works themselves and the films made is a whole gallery of the brightest images and characters, a story about such different destinies and differently meaningful lives, a story in the center of which is invariably Man, with his love, quests, weaknesses and victories.

The life of a small provincial town was stirred up by a series of terrible and inexplicable crimes. Circumstantial evidence pointed to the involvement of a well-respected television presenter of a popular religious program in the gang's affairs. He is opposed by Ivan Sklyar, a brave and experienced judge, an irreconcilable "lawyer-cracker" who firmly believes in the inevitability of punishment.

The action of the series takes place in the post-war years in a small town, which was overwhelmed by a series of mysterious murders. Mutilated corpses with torn throats and bloody traces of wolf paws plunged the locals into panic. The young head of the local UGRO, Mysik, is trying to understand the events taking place and understand who benefits from the atmosphere of fear and superstition that has developed among the workers of the trophy warehouse and elite stud farm.

The series is set in Moscow, nowadays. The main character is lawyer Andrey Zimogorov, known for his honesty and integrity. He often fights for "failed" cases in the eyes of his colleagues.

The action takes place in Russia in the mid-90s and tells about the dramatic twists and turns of the personal and professional life of Igor Klepko, an employee of the special department of the criminal investigation department for combating organized crime and banditry, who has every chance to become a new national hero.

Alexander Litvinov belongs to the generation of Russian clerks. Glossy magazines impose on him a lifestyle that he cannot afford, the environment demands success and professional ambitions from him. Alexander's real estate career is not going very well, the last chance to improve things is to get a piece of land that once belonged to a pioneer camp.

The plot consists of several parallel lines with flashbacks in time. These are the fates of heroes. Almost all of them work in the circus – whether it's the Ilyin family, or a boy working as an assistant who dreams of becoming a real circus performer. These are both happy and tragic fates (an acrobat's partner dies almost through his fault, in front of his eyes). The polyphony of feelings is further enhanced against the background of animals working in the circus – bears, donkeys, monkeys (each with their own character) and often similar to humans.
