This five-part drama series, based on a novel by A.B. What happens after five or six years of marriage, when the fires of passion die down? Yoshihiko, a veterinarian, makes love to his wife out of a sense of duty, while his wife Shoko, a promising lighting designer, pretends to take pleasure in his advances. Meanwhile, Kenji puts on that he's just too busy with work to respond to his wife's need for physical affection, eventually causing trouble for his wife and daughter when he has an affair with Shoko. Through these two contrasting couples, this drama portrays an unsettling challenge to modern marriages.

Kohei (Nakamura Masatoshi), a trading company employee, receives an order from the company president to be seconded to Sakurai, an inn in Izu, to turn the business around.
