In a similar vein to other shows by the same writer, the humour worked on two levels for younger and older viewers. It was produced by The London Studios for London Weekend Television and Fire Mountain Productions in association with Link Entertainment. In 2023, the series was remastered, with full episodes posted on the show's official YouTube Channel.

La Bande à Ovide, a.k.a. Ovide and the Gang, is a 1980s animated TV show produced by the Canadian animation studio CinéGroupe in association with Belgium's Odec Kid Cartoons. It ran from 1987 to 1988 and also goes by the names "Ovide Video" and "Ovide's Video Show", and in the US, it was aired on Nick Jr in 1992. Fantomcat was an animated series produced by Cosgrove Hall Films. It was first broadcast in 1995 and was animated after Avenger Penguins in 1994 by Alfonso Productions, a Spanish animation studio. It aired largely on Children's ITV. The series also had a brief run on Pop and on Network Ten in Australia. It was produced and directed by Ben Turner. Fantomcat centres on the character Phillipe Lentheric Guerlain de Givenchy, the Duke of Fantom, a masked swashbuckling hero who thrived in 1699, in mortal combat with his archnemesis Baron Von Skeltar. De Fantom was treacherously cast into a painting within the halls of his house, Castle De Fantom, and became trapped for centuries. As time passed, the area around Castle De Fantom became a bustling metropolis called Metro City, a city submerged in crime rings led by the fiendish arachnid Marmagora.

The Adventures of Kotetsu

While walking through the streets of Tokyo, Linn Suzuki comes across a strange device sticking up from the sidewalk. Suddenly, she is set upon by thugs and is helped by a beautiful stranger who takes them all down. It seems young Linn has fled Deep Kyoto from her cruel mistress and has traveled to Edo where she hopes to find her long lost brother, who was last seen working for the Kuon Detective Agency. By chance, this stranger happens to be Miho Kuon and lets Linn stay with her (nicknaming her Kotetsu, or Little Tetsu after her brother, Tetsujin).
