The True Believers is a 1988 Australian mini series which looks at the history of the Australian Labor Party from the end of World War Two up to the Australian Labor Party split of 1955. It was co-written by Bob Ellis who focused on three characters "Chifley, the unlettered man of great dignity; Menzies, who used to stand for something but eventually stood only for Menzies; and Evatt, the grand idealist... It's almost like Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 1. It's a chunk of national history during Australia's great era of change after the war."

Prague 1942. The city is occupied by German troops. As the end of the war and the advancing Russian army comes ever nearer, the Czech chief inspector Beran and his assistant Jan Morava are hunting a serial killer. During his investigation, every step Morava takes is observed by Gestapo man Erwin Buback. Buback’s brief is to report to his Nazi superior Meckerle how closely the Prague police is linked to the Czech resistance movement. Then the Soviet troops reach Prague and in the armed rising against the occupiers even the most innocent become murderers.

The Valiant Years was a documentary produced by ABC based on the memoirs of Winston Churchill, directed by Anthony Bushell and John Schlesinger, narrated by Gary Merrill and with extracts from the memoirs voiced by Richard Burton. It ran in the United States from 1960 to 1961, in 27 30-minute episodes and was broadcast in the UK by the BBC from February to August 1961. Its incidental music was written by Richard Rodgers, who won an Emmy for it in 1962. Scriptwriters included Victor Wolfson a dramatist and writer, Quentin Reynolds, William L. Fair Stood the Wind for France

When John Franklin crash-lands his Wellington bomber in occupied France at the height of the Second World War, he is concerned for the safety of his crew and worried about his own badly injured arm. His crew escapes, but the family of a mill owner risk their lives to hide Franklin in their home until he regains his health. During the following balmy summer months, the pilot's situation is further complicated by his feelings for Francoise, the daughter of the house, but as German patrols move in, his only chance of survival is to flee from France.
