Two-A-Days is a show on the United States cable television channel MTV. The show chronicled the lives of teens at Hoover High School in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of nearby Birmingham. It focused on the members of the school's highly-rated Hoover Buccaneers football team during the football season, while they balanced athletics with school and relationships. The show premiered on August 23, 2006, at 10:30 P.M. EDT and subsequently was broadcast weekly on Wednesdays at the same time. The show began on MTV Canada on September 7, 2006, at 10 P.M. EDT. Repeat episodes of the show are also shown on CMT, MTV's sister channel, at various times. In Hoover, the show's premiere episode was shown to the cast, their families and supporters at a local theater; the event was staged as a movie premiere, with the traditional red carpet replaced by a carpet of artificial turf, complete with stripes as would be found on a football field. The second season began on Tuesday, January 30, 2007.

U.S. of ANT is a gay-and travel-themed series aired by Logo. Hosted by actor and comedian ANT, the series follows him as he travels to small-town American destinations, speaking with gay, bisexual and straight residents of various communities to learn about the spirit and aspects of LGBT life away from a metropolitan setting. The series premiered in the summer of 2006. In its first season, ANT traveled to such diverse locales as Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, New Hampshire, Texas and Florida. Season of the Tiger is a six-part docudrama that follows members of the Grambling State University marching band and football team during the 2005-2006 football season. Produced by DAFT films and Black Entertainment Television, Season of the Tiger premiered on April 27, 2006 at 9:30 p.m. The subsequent episodes were shown at the same Thursday time slot for the following five weeks. In documentary style, the show focuses on the lives of three band members and two football players as they try to fulfill their potential, despite the setbacks they encounter along the way. Season of the Tiger is the second BET reality show to focus on life at a historically black institution, and the first to highlight the competitive environment of marching bands at some HBCUs. Unanimous was a United Kingdom-based game show broadcast on Channel 4 from 27 October 2006 to 15 December 2006. It was based on an American game show titled Unan1mous. Unanimous: The Fallout, was shown on E4 later at night after Unanimous. It was hosted by comedians Paddy McGuinness and Olivia Lee and featured regular guest Karl Daly, played by Tom Bennett. The 'Host' of the show was Alex Humes. Although fairly unknown, Humes starred in the reality TV programme Space Cadets, also for Channel 4, where he played one of the Russian pilots. The voice-over for the programme was provided by Phil Gallagher. The show was not live but was recorded many weeks before airing. Contestants were not informed of the rules or objectives of the game before it started - only that they were going to be playing in a game show with a substantial prize fund, and they would be filmed non-stop in an enclosed environment.

Beginning in 2005, the series followed the Tactical Team from Kent Police in Medway, Kent and the Tactical Support Group from the Police Service of Northern Ireland in Derry, Northern Ireland. The programme also followed Surrey Police for a short while around Guildford, Surrey. The footage from the two teams is combined with video footage from CCTV cameras and police forces from around the world. The series is narrated by Lee Boardman. Playdate is a British television dating programme that was made by Hamma & Glamma Productions for ITV. It was screened Monday to Fridays on ITV Play between 8.00pm and 10.00pm, and daily on ITV2 between 1.00am and 4.00am. Billed as "the UK’s first interactive TV dating show", the show's format is based around speed dating. The show had one format: 7 days a week, the show was interactive: various singletons of both sexes were invited into the studio, and members of the public were invited to phone in and talk with the studio guests, known as "datees". Viewers were also invited to send text messages and picture messages to the "datees". The show's presenters were Brendan Courtney, Dave O'Reilly, Giles Vickers Jones, Kat Shoob, Katy Pullinger, Zoe Hardman and former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler. Playdate was axed with its final show being aired on 17 December. The Mint was shown in its slot on ITV2 and The Mint Extra shown in its slot on ITV Play. The Mint ceased broadcasting in 2007.

On 19 May 2006, officers from the Fraud Squad raided the offices of Big Game TV, makers of The Daily Quiz! after a BBC Radio 4 investigation for the You and Yours programme found that receptionists were told to ignore all incoming calls for long periods of time while 150–200 calls per minute were clocked up at 75p a time.
