The Twentieth Century is a long-running CBS documentary television series that aired from 1957 to 1966, sponsored throughout its run by the Prudential Insurance Company and narrated by Walter Cronkite. Drawing on the resources of CBS News, the series produced both historical compilation documentaries and originally photographed contemporary reports, presenting major political, cultural, scientific, and social developments that shaped the modern world. Episodes combined newsreel footage, eyewitness testimony, and on-location reporting, covering subjects ranging from global conflicts and political change to arts, science, and international social transformation. Popular with audiences and critically respected, the series functioned as a formative model for later American television documentary programming and helped establish the compilation-documentary format as a central mode of broadcast nonfiction.

A short-lived change of format for the talk show "Tonight Starring Steve Allen". The co-hosts Steve Allen and Ernie Kovacs were dismissed, and the series changed into a news show. Jack Lescoulie and Al "Jazzbo" Collins served as the new hosts, while Hy Gardner conducted the interviews. The news show suffered from low ratings, and several NBC affiliates dropped the show. NBC then changed the format back into a talk show, under the title "Tonight Starring Jack Paar".

BBC Points West is the BBC's regional news programme for the West of England, covering Bristol, the majority of Wiltshire, northern and eastern Somerset and southern Gloucestershire. Produced by BBC West, the programme is produced from the BBC Broadcasting Centre at Whiteladies Road, Bristol with reporters also based at newsrooms in Bath, Gloucester, Swindon and Taunton. The main presenters are Alex Lovell, David Garmston and Amanda Parr.

Scotsport was a Scottish sports television programme, broadcast on STV in northern and central Scotland, as well as on ITV Border in southern Scotland. It was recognised as the world's longest-running sports television magazine.
