International Desk is a news program on CNN International. The fast-paced program delivers a roundup of the events of the day. The show airs twice a day on weekdays, with the 10:00 ET/16:00 CET edition anchored by Michael Holmes and the 13:00 ET/19:00 CET edition anchored by Hala Gorani. I-Desk is broadcast from CNN Center in Atlanta and CNN's studios in Washington, DC. The show was launched in 2009 as part of a slate of new programming for primetime in Europe. Gorani was initially the sole anchor when I-Desk premiered on 9 February 2009, with the program airing once a day. Isha Sesay later joined on 20 April 2009 to host the 10:00 ET edition, with Gorani hosting a second block two hours later. Sesay swapped roles with Holmes in September 2011, taking over as presenter of BackStory, while Holmes took over at I-Desk. The Weekend edition is anchored by Jonathan Mann.

Closing Bell can refer to two CNBC programs, the original Closing Bell on CNBC, and European Closing Bell on CNBC Europe. The show is named after the bell that is rung to signify the end of a trading session on the New York Stock Exchange which occurs at 4:00 pm EST. Many exchanges used to signify end of trading with a gong or bell when they were operated on a open outcry basis. The New York Stock Exchange still uses this system and often invites special guests to ring the bell. The CNBC shows use this name as they cover the period up to the end of trading and review the trading of the day after the market has closed.

Global National

Global National is the English language national newscast of Canada's Global Television Network. It is produced from the Global BC studios in Burnaby, with Dawna Friesen and Robin Gill anchoring the weekday and weekend editions respectively. From 2008 to 2010, the program was the only Canadian network newscast to be regularly anchored from the nation's capital, Ottawa. In addition to Global's owned-and-operated stations, Global National also airs on affiliate CHFD-DT in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and independent station CJON-DT in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Fourth Reading was a weekly current events newsmagazine series in Canada, airing on TVOntario from 1992 to 2006. It was hosted by Steve Paikin. The show covered provincial politics in Ontario and national political issues affecting the province. Its name derived from the parliamentary convention that a bill receives three readings in a legislative house before becoming law; media coverage would therefore constitute a "fourth reading". In 1997, Minister of Education John Snobelen was being interviewed on a Thursday afternoon, for the show that would air the Friday night. During this interview, then-Premier Mike Harris announced a cabinet shuffle in which Snobelen became the Minister of Natural Resources.

It is currently anchored by Paolo Bediones, Cheri Mercado, and Jove Francisco. Al Rojo Vivo is a Spanish language news program on the American television network Telemundo. It is shown daily from 5 to 6 P.M. EST. Anchors are Maria Celeste Arraras. The show replaced a similar news program called Ocurrio Asi in 2002 after Arraras left the Univision network after some laboral disputes. Arraras is substituted by Carmen Dominicci, Monica Noguera or Vanessa Hauc in special occasions. The flagship news bulletin is the nightly 6pm news hour, but One News also has midday and late night news bulletins, as well as current affairs shows such as Breakfast and Seven Sharp. Its local competitor is ITV News London, which is produced by ITN for ITV London. BBC London News is broadcast seven days a week on BBC One in London and the surrounding areas, with short bulletins during BBC Breakfast, after the BBC News at One, and after the BBC News at Ten. Bullseye was a news and analysis program that aired on CNBC at 6 pm ET weekdays from December 8, 2003 to March 11, 2005. Hosted by Dylan Ratigan, it covered breaking news stories from business to pop culture and offered guidance on personal finance with the help of CNBC reporter Steve Liesman and his economy charts drawn on "Easels". The program had music selected by a CNBC intern called Grecco. One segment on the show was called Whine & Cheese, where Ratigan served wine and cheese to his guests and talked about the news in business and corporate governance. On the last episode of the show, on the segment called Bullseye Perspective, Ratigan served as moderator of an economics debate between Lawrence Kudlow and Paul Krugman of the New York Times. Morning Edition is an Irish television programme broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now. It is produced by RTÉ News and Current Affairs. Midday is an Irish television talk show programme skewed towards female viewers. The show first broadcast from October 2008 on TV3. The all-female panel includes the show's presenter, Elaine Crowley, and four other women. This panel of women varies from each episode generally made-up of some of Ireland’s best known businesswomen, actresses, artists, sportswomen and female political figures. The members of the panel tackle the hot topics and trends of the day, with live feedback from phone-in viewers, keeping them on their toes and stoking the fire of debate. From September 2013 Midday will receive a revamp, Elaine Crowley will be joined by a new co-presenter, former The Morning Show presenter, Sybil Mulcahy. Ombudsman

Ombudsman was a Canadian television programme which sought to investigate and resolve disputes between people and government or business systems. When the series began, government ombudsman offices were only available in a few Canadian provinces. The initial Ombudsman episodes began mid-season in January 1974 and were broadcast fortnightly, sharing its Sunday night time slot with In the Present Tense. Beginning with the fall 1974 season, CBC aired the series most weeks. Lawyer Robert M. Cooper was the program's host until 1979 when he shifted his attention to film production. Kathleen Ruff was his successor in the final season. By the time CBC cancelled the series, nearly all Canadian provincial governments had opened ombudsman offices.
