GMTV News was the brand name for the regional news service in the south coast of England and the Thames Valley, from 5 December 2006 until 6 February 2009. The change in branding was brought about due to the launch of ITV's Thames Valley news region on 4 December 2006, which, although based at Meridian's studios, consisted of the south-east of the Central franchise area as well as the north of the Meridian area. For this reason it was unlike the GMTV Northern Ireland and GMTV Scotland services, as it was produced by an ITV regional franchise-holder, rather than an independent company. As GMTV at the time only paid for one regional news service per official franchisee, the regional GMTV News-branded service was a replacement for the Meridian News and Thames Valley Today programmes. In February 2009, the two programmes were merged into one Meridian News/Tonight programme, and the GMTV News brand was dropped.

Engineering Announcements for the Radio and Television Trade, sometimes abbreviated to Engineering Announcements, was a weekly magazine of news and information intended for technicians and salespeople in the United Kingdom, produced and transmitted by the Independent Television Authority from 23 November 1970 until 31 July 1990. It covered technical advances in the industry such as the launch of satellite television and NICAM stereo, along with details of new transmitters and the scheduling of transmitter downtime. Engineering Announcements, and the BBC's similar Service Information, are examples of regularly scheduled "ghost programmes," so called because they were never advertised in on-air schedules, in newspaper TV listings, the TV Times or on teletext.

Initially, The Money Wheel covered almost all of the channel's business day hours, airing continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET each day. The show's hours were later cut back to 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 to 3 p.m. ET as other programs were introduced to the schedule. The show gave viewers the latest market action on Wall Street as the trading day progressed. The Money Wheel was hosted by many anchors of CNBC, including Ted David, Felicia Taylor, Bill Griffeth, Sue Herera, Ron Insana, Terry Keenan, John Stehr and Kevin McCullough. Regular segments included Taking Stock where viewers could phone-in and ask the guest analysts' recommendations on certain stocks. As a result of CNBC's alliance with Dow Jones, the show was renamed Market Watch in the morning and was replaced by an extended Street Signs in the afternoon. At the time, most segments remained the same.
