1986 is an American news magazine series that aired on NBC from June 10, 1986 to December 30, 1986. The lead anchors were Roger Mudd and Connie Chung. Maria Shriver also contributed to the program. The show was NBC's 14th attempt in 17 years to launch a prime time news program in a similar fashion that CBS and ABC has successfully done. Roger Mudd was particularly agitated over the quick cancellation of the program.

House of Style is an MTV show that premiered January 1, 1989, focusing on America's growing fascination with the "supermodel" craze. The show focused on fashion, lives of models, the modeling industry, and controversial topics such as eating disorders.

I-Caught is an ABC News newsmagazine program hosted by Bill Weir which ran from August 7 to September 11, 2007 at 10:00 PM ET. Originally a midseason project, the series aired during the Summer and briefly aired in Australia on the Nine Network. i-CAUGHT featured news stories based on video images captured by cell phones, webcams, surveillance cams, and the internet – as well as looking at what happens to the people involved after their video is seen publicly. Among those featured in the premiere was liquid dancer David Bernal, better known to the video-viewing public as David Elsewhere.

Séptimo día is a Colombian television newsmagazine broadcast by Caracol TV on Sunday evenings. It proclaims itself as "a weapon against injustice". Séptimo día first aired in 1996 on Canal Uno, when Caracol TV was still a production company. At the time it was presented by its creator, Manuel Teodoro, and Adriana Vargas. The show was successful, but also had to face a the large amount of sues against it, which was the reason Caracol TV pulled it out of air in 2000. Eventually, Caracol TV won all the legal suits. A new season of Séptimo día started on 10 June 2007, presented by Teodoro and Silvia Corzo. Since 1 May 2011, María Lucía Fernández co-hosts the programme with Teodoro. In the Miami, Florida market, Séptimo día is broadcast by WGEN-TV on Sunday nights.

Australia's Most Wanted was a television program based on the format made popular by America's Most Wanted. It screened on the Seven Network from 1989 until 1999. An attempt was made to revive the show by the rival Nine Network after the Seven network axed it, but this format was far from successful and was axed after only six weeks. The show was often in the headlines due to its graphic crime scene re-enactments which many deemed too frightening for the show's 7:30pm Monday timeslot. The Sunday Game is Raidió Teilifís Éireann's main Gaelic games television programme. It is shown on RTÉ Two every Sunday during the Football Championship and Hurling Championship seasons. It is one of RTÉ Two’s longest-running shows, having been on air since 1979, one year after the channel first began broadcasting. The programme celebrated its 30th season in 2008.

The Big Match is a British Association football television programme, which screened on ITV regularly between 1968 and 1992. The Big Match originally launched on London Weekend Television, the ITV regional station that served London and the Home Counties at weekends, screening highlights of Football League matches. Other ITV regions had their own shows, but would show The Big Match if they were not covering their own match – particularly often in the case of Southern and HTV. The programme was set up in part as a response to the increased demand in televised football following the 1966 FIFA World Cup and partly as an alternative to the BBC's own football programme, Match of the Day. The Big Match launched the media career of Jimmy Hill, who appeared on the programme as an analyst, and made Brian Moore one of the country's leading football commentators. The Big Match originally screened match highlights on Sunday afternoons but in 1978 ITV audaciously won exclusive rights to all league football coverage, in a move termed "Snatch of the Day". Although the Monopolies and Mergers Commission blocked the move, the BBC were forced to allow ITV to take over the Saturday night slot in alternating seasons, starting in 1980.

Nyheterna is the name of the news programme of the Swedish channel TV4. Unlike most other programmes on TV4, Nyheterna is produced in-house by the TV4 Group themselves. Nova, the first and main part of the programme, was made jointly by VARA and NPS and featured news analysis and background reports.
