Ogami Itto is a master swordsman who holds a position of high power in the Tokugawa Shogunate. Highly trusted by the Shogun, he serves as the official decapitator, assisting lords and samurai who have been ordered by the Shogun to commit seppuku. One day, Itto’s wife and members of his household are brutally murdered by a clan seeking to avenge their lord’s execution, which had been carried out by Itto. In the wake of the attack, two items are left in Itto’s home: his unhurt infant son, Daigoro, and a symbol meant to signify Itto’s betrayal of the Shogun. Disgraced by the false symbol, Itto is labeled a traitor and forced to forfeit his position. He becomes a ronin, wandering the country with his son, searching for the men who killed his wife, seeking to clear his name and avenge her death.

Dr. Azuma creates robots to benefit mankind, but they unexpectedly rebel and begin to destroy everything in their paths. To deal with the catastrophe, Dr. Azuma's son volunteers to become a human robot, even though he knows he will never be able to return to human form again. He confronts this grave situation to ensure a bright future for all humans.

Nobita Nobi is so hapless that his 22nd century decendants are still impoverished as a result of his 20th century bumbling. In a bid to raise their social status, their servant, a robotic cat named Doraemon, decides to travel back in time and guide Nobita on the proper path to fortune. Unfortunately Doraemon, a dysfunctional robot that the familly acquired by accident (but chose to keep nonetheless), isn't much better off than Nobita. The robot leads Nobita on many adventures, and while Nobita's life certainly is more exciting with the robot cat from the future, it is questionable if it is in fact better in the way that Doraemon planned.

One day, Honey Kisaragi's a trendy, class-cutting Catholic schoolgirl. The next, her father's been murdered by demonic divas from a dastardly organization called Panther Claw. When his dying message reveals that she's an android, Honey uses the transformative power of the Atmospheric Element Solidifier - the very thing Panther Claw wanted to steal - to seek revenge against the shadowy clan.

Ban Daisuke of Kikaida fame takes the lead role in this classic series pitting a college student against the hostile forces of the Neo-Human Empire. Unique among live action tokusatsu shows, this innovative series features the extraordinary double henshin transformation, the Raijingo supercar, and psionic (psychic) abilities. Watari Goro (Ban) clashes with Emperor Bamba's grotesque corps of mutant monsters, and exclaims, "Summon Supreme Power” (Choriki Shorai!) to initiate his final transformation into Inazuman.

A poor young frog living in Rainbow Pond with his mother and father (a toymaker), who becomes friends with a popular and sweet girl frog named Ranatan, despite the differences in their social standings: Ranatan is the daughter of the leader of Rainbow Pond, while Demetan and his parents are tree frogs, which make them automatic outcasts in the community. Together, Demetan and Ranatan enjoy many adventures.

Ike! Godman is a tokusatsu tv series by Toho. It ran from October 5, 1972 to April 10, 1973. This was Toho's first Kyodai Hero. It was pulled from reruns on September 28, 1973 and it was replaced by Ike! Greenman. While on air Monday through Saturday, with only one or two episodes per week, each episode consisted of six parts and each part was five minutes long. The entire series ran for twenty-six episodes.

Kikaider 01, is a tokusatsu superhero TV series, and a sequel series to Android Kikaider. Produced by Toei Company Ltd., it was broadcast on NET from May 12, 1973 to March 30, 1974, with a total of 46 episodes. Its title in Hawaii is Kikaida 01.

Koichi is the Japanese middle-school descendant of a race of extraterrestrials who crash-landed on the Earth 5000 years ago. He has psychokinetic powers which uses to fight the evil Yomi who wants to gain dominance over the world.

Jumborg Ace is the title superhero of a tokusatsu SF/kaiju/superhero TV series. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the show was broadcast on Mainichi Broadcasting System from January 17 to December 29, 1973, with a total of 50 episodes. This was also one of several shows Tsuburaya did to celebrate the company's 10th Anniversary.

The Water Margin is a Japanese television series based on Water Margin, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. The novel details the trials and tribulations of 108 outlaws during the Song Dynasty. This adaptation follows Lin Chung and his clashes with the local government official Kao Chiu. The Water Margin is famous for its, sometimes obscure, but memorable philosophical quotes, such as "Do not despise the snake for having no horns,for who is to say it will not become a dragon?""

Zone Fighter, known in Japan as Ryūsei Ningen Zone, is a tokusatsu science fiction superhero television series. Produced by Toho Company Ltd., the show aired on Nippon Television from April 2 to September 24, 1973, with a total of 26 episodes, it was cancelled due to the oil crisis of 1973. This was Toho's answer to not only the popular Ultra Series, but the Henshin Hero phenomenon started by shows like Kamen Rider and Android Kikaider. The previous year, Toho had just made their successful first superhero show, Rainbowman. The series was also notable for its guest appearance by Toho's own Godzilla, as well as two other Toho monsters, King Ghidorah and Gigan. Supplementary materials published by Toho have confirmed Zone Fighter to be part of the Showa-era Godzilla series, taking place in between Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.

Tetsujin Tiger Seven, translated as Iron Man Tiger 7, was a Japanese tokusatsu television series that aired in 1973, produced by P Productions. Unlike P. Productions previous series about cat based heroes Iron Man Tiger 7 is set in modern Japan. Takigawa Go gets the power to transform into Tetsujin Tiger Seven from an artificial heart and a magic pendent. To transform he utters the henshin phrase "Tiger Spark". Takigawa Go is played by Tatsuya Nanjô who also starred in Toei's Henshin Ninja Arashi. Go rides a Suzuki motorcycle with rocket boosters. When he transforms into Tiger Seven the motorcycle transforms as well to become "Spike Go". Spike Go can drive itself, coming to its master's aid when Tiger 7 roars. Tetsujin Tiger 7 was apparently P. Production's attempt at a Kamen Rider style series. They even hired Shunsuke Kikuchi composer of the 1970s Kamen Rider music to write the music for Tetsujin Tiger 7.

Fireman, known as Magma Man in some markets, is a Japanese tokusatsu television series about a superhero, the title character, who fights kaiju and other villains. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the show was broadcast on Nippon Television from January 7 to July 31, 1973, with a total of 30 episodes. This was also one of several shows Tsuburaya did to celebrate the company's 10th Anniversary.

Fables of the Green Forest is an anime adaption based on a series of books published in the 1910s and 1920s by Thornton W. Burgess which ran on the Japanese network Fuji TV from 7 January 1973–30 December 1973. It consists of 52 episodes and was created by the animation studio Zuiyo Eizo. The series has been aired in many countries outside Japan, such as Germany, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Venezuela and Canada. The release of the series into Canada was done through Ziv International in 1978.

Super Robot Red Baron is a Japanese tokusatsu series that aired from April 4, 1973, to March 27, 1974. Its story was later retold in the anime Red Baron and it had a sequel titled Super Robot Mach Baron.

Fuun Lion-Maru, translated as Storm Cloud Lion Maru, was a tokusatsu series that aired in Japan in 1973. It was the second series in the Lion-Maru trilogy, and featured a third Maru-like character named Black Jaguar. This Lion-Maru is deemed "the Rolling Tempest Ninja Warrior." This series was popularized in Brazil as Lion Man in 1989, the only other country besides Japan to show the 25 episodes of this series.

A young reporter, Kotaro Rai, is on the trail of a ring of gem thieves. But Rai is faced with an evil that threatens all of Asia, the Zensei Majin who had been in disguise. Luckily, the man's life is saved by a good spirit named Diamond Eye, who had appeared from one of the stolen diamond rings. From that day on the diamond hero entrusted the ring in Rai, and when he's in need of help, Diamond Eye would appear and protect him.

Go! Greenman is a tokusatsu TV series by Toho in 1973. It ran from November 12, 1973, to September 27, 1974. It replaced Go! Godman.

Set during the Kyoho Period of the Edo Era (1716-1735), the city of Edo (now Tokyo) is under the terror of Okami Kamen (Wolf Mask). Town Magistrate, Echisen Ooka, send his top man in the Kage Yoriki (Shadow Police), Hyoma Tsurugi (Kyotaka Mitsugi), to investigate. He unveils the evil pulling the strings of a Yokai army, Kaen Daimaoh (Infernal Devil), but is mortally wounded by the creature. Suddenly, another apparition appears, Shiro Jishi Kamen (White Lion Mask), who spares his life — and now Tsurugi must fight as the human form of this agent of righteousness to preserve justice!

Three ninja siblings, Ginga [Galaxy] Mitsurugi, Suisei [Comet] Mitsurugi, and Gekko [Moonlight] Mitsurugi, battle the alien warriors of the Scorpion Army.
