Youth

Delving into the thoughts, hopes and fears of young people on the cusp of adulthood, This short by Oliver Richomme explores what young people of today dream of, are afraid of, their predictions of the future, questions about life and what ultimately inspires and frustrates them. The film does not have any reference to time or place. Its approach is timeless with a universal visual language. However, the choice of location and costume is very intentional. Richomme believes the young people featured have been forced to concern themselves with worries beyond their years and this is portrayed in the kitsch and dated style, look and feel, which harnesses a sense of nostalgia and anachronism.

On a sleepy summer night in 2004, eyes peer into the world-wide-web: traveling between conspiracy sites, malware, porn, and mp3 databases in an attempt to lose (find) themselves. Lost websites, anon forums, and inexplicable pixels singing to a prepubescent soul. An ode to the 2000s webpage and flash game culture.

Black Serial Killers:Truth or Fiction

America has a fascination with serial killers. Many of them are household names, Ted Bundy, John Wade Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer. But there is another group of serial killers with even higher body counts. However, chances are you've never heard of Samuel Little, The Grim Sleeper, or The Sunday Morning Slasher. Combined these men have 85 confirmed murders. There are no books, movies, or television shows about these killers. Why? Because they are black serial killers. Filmmaker Sean Reid explores black serial killers and the lack of public information and media representation about them. Reid interviews Allan Branson, a criminal justice professor. Branson discusses the history of African-American serial killers and the negative stereotypes and biases that have influenced their portrayal in the media.

Red Ribbons of Love

A short film that documents the 30-year history of the red AIDS ribbons on the tower of Hollywood United Methodist Church, located two blocks from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1993, when salons, barbershops, schools, and churches were closing their doors to the LGBTQ+ community for fear of “catching” AIDS, this church not only welcomed the community into the church but affixed two large red ribbons of love to the sides of its tower to proclaim that all are welcome.
